Borderlands 2 Game of the Year eGuide Walkthrough

My First Gun

Mission Briefing

After Handsome Jack left you for dead in Windshear Waste, you escaped the cold and met a CL4P-TP General Purpose Robot—the last of his kind on Pandora. Shortly after you entered Claptrap’s igloo, an enormous Bullymong broke in and removed the chatty ‘bot’s eye. Claptrap needs your help to get it back. First things first, though: you need a gun. Claptrap has asked you to grab one from his cabinet.

Never There When You Need It

Fans of the original Borderlands will find plenty of familiar signage in Claptrap’s Place.

Claptrap hasn’t just built himself a home on the ice, but a veritable shrine to his hometown. All manner of Fyrestone paraphernalia can be found scattered amongst the defunct CL4P-TPs and, err… frozen Vault Hunter corpses. Unfortunately, the one thing Claptrap’s Place doesn’t have is a way to keep out dangerous bullymongs. One such beast, known locally as Knuckle Dragger, has descended from the frigid rafters and made off with Claptrap’s solitary eye. And so begins the first of many missions: Arm yourself, Minion!

The mission objective icon will help guide you to the gun Claptrap keeps in the cabinet to the left, but feel free to have a look around first. Loot the ammo chest for valuables and locate the storage closet on the right. Open the door to find the Cult of the Vault symbol etched in the back wall. Inspect the design to complete your first Challenge (this area has only one Cult of the Vault symbol). Help yourself to the piles of cash on Claptrap’s card table, as well.

Nearly every region in the game has at least one Cult of the Vault symbol—find them all to complete Challenges and earn Badass Ranks.

Make your way past Claptrap as he blindly slams into each and every piece of furniture in his house. The cabinet you seek is glowing green and marked with a diamond both on the minimap and on-screen. Your reward for finding this impossible-to-miss cabinet is a small amount of XP and cash, along with the gun it contains: a Basic Repeater pistol by Dahl.

Herein rests the solution to the shortest mission in Vault Hunter history.
