Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Guide › Headhunter Packs

Mad Moxxi and the Wedding Day Massacre

Fast Travel Location: Rotgut Distillery

Love is a battlefield at Mad Moxxi’s request in the Wedding Day Massacre. Help bring two star-crossed lovers together in the hopes of unifying the rival Zaforn and Hodunk clans and find yourself running into some luck (not to mention new heads and skins) along the way in this Headhunter Pack add-on.

A Match Made on Pandora

Reward: Character head customization and XP

Head east along the path out of the cave after using the Fast Travel. Moxxi is standing outside the chapel. After speaking her, enter the chapel to find the Preacher, Innuendobot 5000. Follow Moxxi back out of the chapel toward a gate.

With the gate open, run north toward the water and then follow it for a short ways, eventually finding a soon to be married couple, Bridget and Colin, in their “Love Nest.”

After speaking with one of them, realization sinks in. You’ll need a love potion to make this marriage happen!

Creating the Love Potion

You need to collect something old, new, borrowed and gold to make this love potion work.

Something New and “Borrowed”

First, you must find something borrowed and something new. Luckily, Ellie has the bright idea of kidnapping--I mean borrowing--a brand new baby, killing two birds with one stone! Make sure you are loaded up and ready for a fight before picking up the baby.

After picking up the baby, all of the Hodunks in the area start attacking. Defeat them all to move on to the next part of the mission. There is plenty of cover if you need it, you can even hide behind an entire house to regenerate your health or shield if need be.

Something Old

Go east out of the Hodunk’s village to find the path that leads north to Zaford’s Distillery. Speak with Ed (the robot outside the gate) and convince him to join you on a heroic mission to save his robot girlfriend. Once Ed opens the gate, stay with him and fight your way through the courtyard.

Tip

It’s not uncommon for the Zafords to be carrying elemental weapons. If one of them attacks with any elemental damage, immediately make them a priority target.

Once the courtyard is clear, Ed will open a hole in the wall. Hop in and listen to him speak to his girlfriend while you try out a few barrels of whiskey to determine which one is “old” enough for the potion.

Something Gold

After a short conversation, Ed will open another hole granting you access to another room. This room contains a pot of gold, which happens to be the last ingredient to the love potion! It’s best to clear all of the enemies in this room before going for the Pot of Gold.

In the room just before the Pot of Gold, be on the lookout for some Loaders and a handful of Zaford’s men. It’s a small room so make sure to eliminate them as soon as possible. At the end of this fight, the door leading to the Pot of Gold will open. Just before you reach it, however, it will transform into a BLNG Loader and sprint off into the distance. Stay close and chose to either kill the enemies that spawn or run past them, following the BLNG Loader.

The BLNG Loader won’t run very far, eventually stopping in a room devoid of enemies. Quickly take it down with some caustic damage and grab its head for your golden ingredient.

Mix It Up

Head up a few stairs (in the same room as the BLNG fight) to the mixer. There you will enter all of the ingredients needed for the love potion that will be distilled into a flask for safekeeping.

Return the Baby

Exit the Distillery and return to the Chapel to drop off the baby. Once the baby is safe, it’s time for the wedding!

Attend the Wedding

Go southwest from from the church and drop down the hole in the building located there. Remember that the cave you land in, as it will make your life easier later in this mission. Follow the path out of the cave and into Love’s Lookout to join the wedding party.

Spike the Punch

After a few pleasantries are exchanged between the bride and groom, it becomes clear that it’s time to spike the punch with the love potion. Walk up to the ceremonial bowl and pour in the love potion.

Kill the Bride and Groom

This boss fight is quite challenging, as both Bride and Groom must die at the same time. If the bride or groom is left alive, he or she will revive their fallen spouse. Not only will this give them both full health again, but it also provides damage boost! Circle around until both are in pursuit of your Vault Hunter. Spread damage out across them equally so you don’t kill one too early.

Once the Bride and Groom have approximately one-fourth of their health remaining, return to the cave that you dropped into. When done properly, your Vault Hunter and the happy couple should end up in the cave.

Use grenades and other powerful weapons to take them both out. If one falls before the other, you still have a short amount of time to kill the other one before it can revive its partner. Head back up to Moxxi to turn in the mission.

Learning To Love

Reward: Cash and XP

After completing A Match Made in Pandora, speak to the Preacher inside the church. After doing so, you are sent on a quest to gather a few items for his romantic ideas.

Collect a Cigar

Head toward the Hodunk Village, cross the bridge, and then go left between the houses. You’ll get attacked by lots of angry Hodunk townsfolk so either fight back, or grab the cigars off the table and run!

A Blonde Wig

Were you wondering about what fate had planned for Ed and Stella? Don’t worry; that story line will be coming to a close. Locate Ed and Stella outside the Distillery Gates to the east of Hodunk Town. After conversing with the couple, you must take matters into your own hands to get that wig! Taking the wig from Stella makes her attack. You can choose to fight Stella and Ed now, or run from them and into the Distillery to acquire the next item.

A Can of Grease

Once inside the Distillery, you’ll end up in a room full of drunken groomsmen surrounding a bottle of grease. Picking up the bottle will agro all of the men in the room, so don’t turn your back on them. As was the case earlier, you can run or fight.

Return to Innuendobot

Innuendobot will fly in just down the path from the Distillery gates. After speaking with him, you’re tasked with delivering the presents to their unsuspecting recipients.

The first present goes to Lilah Hodunk, who is just west of Bridget and Colin’s Love Nest. Hand her the wig and rejoice in this happy moment you share with her.

Follow the River back down toward the chapel to find Nathaniel Zaford and deliver the cigars to him. He will express his appreciation by throwing them on the ground.

The last present goes to Moxxi, who is by the Chapel. She’s not quite happy with a bottle of grease, though. To prevent any more horrible presents being handed out and to put Innuendobot out of his romantic misery, you are ordered to kill him.

Kill Innuendobot

Innuendobot is down by the river. Moxxi offers brief reprise to her kill-order, as Innuendobot seems to feel remorse for his actions. This is just an act, however, so it’s time for this bot to be terminated.

He doesn’t move much initially, so inflict as much damage as possible. Watch out for a few random grenade tosses; these aren’t to be ignored, as they deal a ton of damage if your Vault Hunter gets hit directly. Once Innuendobot is permanently shut down, return to Moxxi to turn in the mission.
