Searching for a New Sponsor
The exit is atop the tallest of the three platforms.
You may have impressed Piston a little too well, and now he wants you dead—less competition for him to contend with later on! You wake from the poison gas in a storage room backstage in Torgue Arena and need to find a way out. Kill the three Torgue fighters guarding the area and ascend the steps in the southwest corner of the room. Leap from the gap in the railing to the series of platforms, and slip through the open grate in the corner of the room.
Mr. Torgue has no choice but to label you a coward while the cameras are rolling, but he’s a lot kinder off-the-record. He knows you’ve been double-crossed and wants to help you set things right. He thinks you can find another sponsor over in The Beatdown. Head south to Scooter’s garage and get yourself a new technical to drive. Follow the paved road northward as it loops around the outskirts of Torgue Arena to the northwest. The Beatdown lies beyond the refinery area in the distance.
The Beatdown is a sprawling industrial city seemingly built on a sloping hillside where smokestacks and storage tanks are as common as apartment buildings. This is also the Burners’ home turf, and they’re not going to take your presence lightly. Load up on ammo and health at the vending machines on the right as you enter the area—sadly, the five Torgue Tokens you earned in the battle won’t buy you anything yet—and begin the journey southward through town.
Take the stairs up to the walkway across from the vending machines, and round the corner to the south. This gives you an elevated position from which to attack the Burners in the distance. Lob grenades down at them, snipe the ones standing still, and advance slowly toward the Bikers.
Motorcycles can instantly kill you if they run you over while you’re downed.
Turn west at the intersection, and proceed past the dump truck toward the overpass in the distance. Climb the ladder on the left-hand side of the road, and run along the rooftops to find a hidden weapon chest. Make your way as far westward as you can along the rooftops to avoid being spotted in the street below.
Initiate your attack from up high before the Burners know what hit them.
Leap to the shack near the overpass, and climb the ladder to the platform between the bridge supports to find some additional loot and to keep safe from the Bikers down below. Keep left of the highway and advance along the rooftops toward the neo-lit “Gen Store” sign in the distance. This puts you in perfect position to take out the turret near the roadblock. Destroy the turret and nearby Burners and Momma’s soldiers, then check behind the buildings on the south side of the street for more loot. Use the crates left of the roadblock to leap up and over the shack near the gate.
Follow the overpass beyond the curve in the surface road, and fight your way up the dirt hill to continue eastward through The Beatdown. You’re not far from Pyro Pete’s Bar now, but the last stretch of road to the north is crawling with Bikers. Stick to the perimeter and make frequent use of your rocket launcher and grenades to repel the Enforcers and Road Gunners in the area. Enter the bar up ahead and access the Battle Board to complete this mission.
Reach the balcony left of the turret for a clear shot at the Burners guarding the roadblock.
You can always buy more ammo inside Pyro Pete’s Bar—hold nothing back!
