Probing the Depths of Magic
Maxibillion is weak to corrosive weaponry, but any non-incendiary weapon should do the trick. However, you must kill Maxibillion with an explosive weapon
This quest is a fairly quick one, since all of its destinations are nearby. Accept the crappy wand from Claptrap, then approach the designated golem that’s just a few steps to the south. (The “Insert” prompt appears when you approach it—it shouldn’t attack you before then.) The golem transforms into an Aerial Golem named Maxibillion, who’s a pretty easy call for a uniquely named foe.
Grab the newly charged wand, and return to the area where you first entered the Mines of Avarice. Your new target is an unusually light-colored Magical Spider. Insert the wand, and then unload with a shock weapon to pierce the spider’s shields and destroy it, charging the wand again.
Pick up the wand, and head to the eastern rim of Camp Dwarf Torture. If any orcs are on your tail, kill them so they can’t interfere. The Magical Orc that’s your target is wandering harmlessly near the eastern hut. Have a good accurate weapon ready so you can pump a bunch of bullets into his small head (the only spot where you can score a Critical Hit) when he comes at you.
You may want to clear out any nearby orcs before you probe the spider. An orc could kill your Magic Spider with a non-shock attack, forcing you to repeat the process.
That’s all three! Deliver the fully charged wand to Claptrap, and sign up for his final quest, “The Claptrap’s Apprentice.”
