Teenage Wasteland

The time has come to take down Flyboy. Top off your ammo, and if you exited the zone or took a break, fight your way back along the perimeter of the Forge, to where the Arena area was located. Continue up the path past the Battle Board and vending machines, moving past the containers where you fought the buzzards. Exit this area to the south, where you can see a large gate in the distance with the word “Flyboy” painted in red paint above it. This is Flyboy’s tower.

The only way to reach the top of the tower is by fighting your way to the lift several flights up. Use the weaponry that helped you gun down the buzzards in the Arena to fend them off here, but keep a more potent shotgun or assault rifle on hand for the numerous Burners that attack. Bruisers, Enforcers, Psychos, and Bikers roam the tower, waiting to attack from behind closed doors. Use the plethora of shock and corrosive barrels to your advantage, and spiral up the tower to the lift.

Clear the lower levels of enemies before riding the lift, and take some time to loot each and every weapon chest you can find. You don’t want to ascend to the top of the tower without ensuring that you have full ammo supplies.

Piston’s Blimp

Piston’s Blimp’s Vitals

If you were looking forward to a battle against Flyboy, you’re out of luck. Piston sucker-punched Flyboy with a rocket to the head, and you’re now the number-two badass on the leaderboard by default. But Piston isn’t through; he’s aiming to use his Blimp to destroy you and lay claim to the Vault.

Piston’s Blimp slowly circles the top of Flyboy’s Lair while firing rockets at your position. There are several gun turrets scattered around the top of the tower that you can use to weaken Piston’s Blimp, but you can be assured Piston will destroy them quickly. Nevertheless, although Piston’s Blimp is well-shielded, the gun turrets can cut through the shield quickly.

Use the gun turret until either Piston’s Blimp flies out of range or the turret is destroyed, then quickly run across the tower rooftop, ahead of Piston’s Blimp, and climb into another turret. Numerous buzzards fly in from the surrounding areas and attack, forcing you to dodge the Blimp’s rockets as well as gunfire from smaller craft. Glance at the mini-map to see where Piston’s Blimp is, and take cover from the Blimp while you focus on the buzzards.

Stay mobile to keep ahead of Piston’s Blimp as you move from gun turret to gun turret. Aim at the gondola beneath the Blimp’s balloon to inflict greater damage, then flee to the center of the tower, under the overhanging walkways. This area offers overhead protection and cover on several sides. It won’t keep you safe from all attacks, but you can use this area to finish off Piston’s Blimp while also avoiding many of the buzzard attacks. Pepper Piston’s Blimp with all manner of gunfire—even rocket launchers work well against Piston’s Blimp thanks to its slow speed. Piston’s Blimp takes heavy damage, but it isn’t fatal, and Piston lives to meet you in battle at Torgue Arena. Return to Moxxi one final time.

Say That to My Face

If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all. Or, carry a really big gun.

An Anonymous Troll has been letting loose with a lot of smack talk, and it’s time to see how tough he is when he doesn’t have that ECHO recorder to hide behind. Cut through the heart of the Junkyard to the area just northeast of Forge Tower. Climb the ladder on the left, and cross the rickety metal bridge to head toward the area where the third Cult of the Vault symbol is located.

Take your time advancing up the hill past the Enforcers and bikers who reside in this area, as your “Personal Troll” is actually quite a bit tougher than you might be expecting. Use your Action Skill to thin the number of attackers while making sure you have plenty of grenades on hand for dealing with Anonymous Troll. Your target doesn’t have a shield, but he does have a lot of health. Don’t rush his position unless you’re a dedicated melee build. Instead, stand back, and try lighting him on fire or using explosives to weaken him while you dodge his gunshots. Don’t be afraid to use a rocket launcher against him if you run out of grenades.

Perhaps most important of all, don’t be afraid to exit the immediate area (run and leap across the molten metal to the base of the tower to escape) if you start to run low on health and there aren’t any other enemies nearby. The chance of earning a Second Wind against Anonymous Troll are pretty slim.

My Husband the Skag

Jerek believes he turned his husband into a skag, and now he wants you to hunt down the skag-husband, kill him, and retrieve the scarf that the skag-husband is believed to be wearing. There are three skag dens in the Forge, each of them located along the arrow-laden path leading to the Arena.

Leave the Bounty Board and turn left to follow the arrow westward toward the first skag den. Jerek’s husband isn’t among these skags, so wipe them out and continue along the path. The skag-husband isn’t in the second den, either, so wipe out the Pup Skags and Adult Skags before reaching the Junkyard. Skirt along the perimeter of the Junkyard toward the next red arrow under the billboard. This is where the third and final skag den is located. You’re likely to encounter a Badass Corrosive Skag or other badass variant in this area, so be careful, allow your Action Skill to recharge, and keep one or two of the Spitter or Pup Skags alive in case you run into trouble and need a Second Wind.

None of the skags in the third den has a red scarf, but Jerek’s husband, Uriah, soon speaks up over the ECHO and asks you to meet with him. Uriah was never turned into a skag. Instead, he just went to live away from Jerek in the Forge. You’re presented with a choice: kill Uriah as Jerek asked, or allow Uriah to live and bring the scarf back to Jerek to trick him. The choice is yours, but note that the reward for completing this mission is the same no matter what you decide.

Access this mission by locating the wooden crate with the logos on the ledge to the east of the Torgue Housing complex. Fight your way to the top of the Housing Complex, and leap off the left-hand side to reach the upper ledge where the crate is located. The ECHO recorder is atop the crate.

Mr. Torgue has provided you with a special Torgue shotgun for this mission that he’d like to film you using. The Ravager is insanely powerful but consumes a truckload of ammo, so prepare to reload often! Head north off the raised ledge where you found the ECHO recorder, and make your way through the gate to the Forge. Roam the lower level of the Forge Tower with the Ravager in hand, and kill 10 of the bikers with it. The weapon is best at very close range but has a slow firing rate, so be ready to toss a grenade or two if you start to get overwhelmed. Back away while reloading, then charge forward and aim for your adversaries’ bodies. The Ravager fires as many as 16 pellets, ensuring enough damage to one-shot kill most enemies if you’re close enough.
