Upon entering the Bloodshot Ramparts, your eye will inevitably be drawn to a gigantic statue of Marcus Kincaid. The Bloodshots created this likeness of the local gunsmith in the hopes that he would bless them with weaponry; a practice we really would like him to stop. To the Bloodshots, guns are the ultimate form of beauty and power. It is therefore reasonable that they would consider a gun runner to be the height of godliness. The Blooshots believe that the Marcus shrine will reward those who appease it with sacrifices of flesh… Yeah… Good for them.
Bloodshot Ramparts is the dam surface, a one-time highway now littered with cars, ramshackle housing, and the aforementioned golden statue of Marcus Kincaid. With both the Bloodshots and Hyperion after Commander Roland, expect to meet serious resistance from both factions. Or, if you’re smart, just let them duke it out between themselves. Even then, it’s going to be one tough fight out there. If you’re gonna get Roland out alive, you better be bringing your A-game.

Cult of the Vault
The Cult of the Vault symbol in this area is under the last ramp on the left-hand side before the path starts to curve to the right behind the giant Marcus statue.
The Last Place You Look
Tiptoe out onto this narrow ledge to yank the first set of keys from the trunk of this teetering car.
Follow along the left-hand side of the roadway to find this next set of keys. Again, they’re in the trunk of a car dangling over the edge.
This next set of keys is inside the garage on the left-hand side as you approach the first Marcus statue. They’re in the door of the car above the yellow bus. Leap up to get them.
Ascend to the uppermost level of the bandit houses on the left and walk out onto the narrow ledge in the center of the area. The fourth set of keys is in the trunk of the car balanced high above the ground.
The final set of keys is in the car door at the Shrine of the Gunbringer, but you may not be able to grab them after killing W4R-D3N. If not, run back to the transition to Bloodshot Stronghold, exit the Ramparts, and quickly return. W4R-D3N’s wreckage will be gone, and you’ll then be able to get the keys. The Fast Travel Station near the Shrine of the Gunbringer is unidirectional.
Friendship Gulag
“Friendship Gulag” is a Hyperion prison located north of Old Dahlwell Oasis in The Dust. Hyperion built it out in the middle of nowhere, so nobody could hear the screaming. This is where they send everyone they intend to squeeze for information, or hold for ransom, or just torture for the hell of it. The ultra-modern facility boasts numerous guard towers, countless Hyperion Loaders and their protective Surveyors, and an army of trained combat Engineers. All Crimson Raider attempts at breaching the compound have ended in abject failure. The prison is effectively impenetrable, and it’s advised that no Raider get within a mile of the place. All rescue attempts should be considered hopeless, futile, and suicidal. Those who enter Friendship Gulag are never coming back. It’s as simple as that.

Cult of the Vault
Fight your way to the northern end of Friendship Gulag and locate this Cult of the Vault symbol on the rear of a Hyperion container.
In the Middle of the Night
Head to Friendship Gulag and remain just inside the entrance, no farther than the vending machines, until night falls. Once it’s adequately dark, the guard towers turn on their search lights and begin panning back and forth across the area. Wait for the nearest guard tower’s right-hand light to shine directly at the entrance, then run under the arch and into the light to trigger this bonus Challenge. Be careful about straying too far when the light is askew, as you may be spotted by a Surveyor or a patrolling Combat Engineer or Loader before the guard’s lights.
