Putting the Dead in Deadlock
Someone—Piston—locked up the entrance to the Forge, forcing you to sneak back into the Arena’s outer ring and steal a key from the security area. This is a great opportunity to destroy any Cookie Boxes or Challenge Barrels you might have missed during the “Eat Cookies and Crap Thunder” mission. Return to the side entrance to the Arena, and equip your best corrosive weaponry. The key you seek is at the northern end of the Arena, just beyond the wall to your left when you first enter. Unfortunately, that wall can only be scaled from the other side, requiring another counter-clockwise lap around the ring.
Check the treasure chest beneath the grate in the south end, as it just might contain a legendary piece of gear.
Combining a corrosive grenade like the Pandemic with an explosive Torgue pistol or shotgun can make you feel invincible.
The Torgue Loaders patrolling the outer ring are still at the same level they were during your earlier visit, making it that much easier for you on this follow-up journey. Work your way around the area with corrosive and explosive weaponry until you get to the shipping container at the north end, near the clapboard wall. Climb onto the container via the stack of crates, and pluck the key to the Forge from the open safe on top. Leap over the wall, and exit the way you came in.
Spawn a vehicle from the Catch-a-Ride, and head to the southwest corner of Badass Crater. Snipe the few Torgue Bikers milling about in the settlement outside the entrance to the Forge, then go on in. The Bounty Board on the right has your payment.
