Finding the Core
To access this mission, you must first return to Bloodshot Stronghold, likely during the “Splinter Group” mission, and locate the Loader #1340 AI Core. You encounter two Marauders kicking a Loader near the employee break room in the first area of the dam—make sure the Loader is destroyed, and pick up the AI Core to start the mission.
Die, Die, Die!
Now that you’ve witnessed the horrible death of a seemingly defenseless Loader, the AI Core wants you to make amends by installing it into a defunct Constructor Bot in Bloodshot Ramparts. Fight your way back through Bloodshot Stronghold to the exit to Bloodshot Ramparts (as you did during “A Dam Fine Rescue”), and load up on ammo at the vending machines outside.
The deactivated Constructor Bot isn’t far from the entrance. Be sure to equip some Corrosive or Explosive weaponry before installing the AI Core because, once installed, Constructor #1340 immediately sets to attack! And as with W4R-D3N, Constructor #1340 attacks primarily by deploying a Constructor Turret and numerous GUN and EXP Loaders. Put your knowledge gained during the battle with W4R-D3N to use and open fire on Constructor #1340 with your best Corrosive weapon or (if you have it handy) a rocket launcher. Constructor #1340 doesn’t have a shield, so there’s no need to worry about Shock weapons. Of course, try to target its eye for maximum damage!
Pick up the AI Core from the wreckage—the AI is very apologetic for having attacked you like that and wants a second chance. Take the AI Core to the decommissioned WAR Loader in the next section of the dam. Kill the Psychos and Nomads in the area before approaching the WAR Loader so you don’t get attacked from both fronts. Once again, prepare for battle. This time, give the risen foe a bit more respect, and seek out some cover. WAR Loaders are capable of firing a barrage of small missiles. Open fire with a Corrosive weapon, and duck in and out of cover to avoid the rockets.
Lethally Annoying
Take the AI Core from the WAR Loader #1340’s wreckage and return to Sanctuary. You can get there either by returning through Bloodshot Stronghold or by continuing across Bloodshot Ramparts to the Fast Travel station (this is the faster option). Once in Sanctuary, head straight for Moxxi’s Bar and install the AI Core into the radio near the piano—what could possibly go wrong? Listen to AI Core #1340’s serenade for as long as you can stand it—or for as long as it takes to record a ringtone for your phone—then open fire on the radio. Remove the AI Core and either take it to Marcus to have it installed into a shotgun or Dr. Zed if you wish to have it made it into a shield. Note that taking it to Marcus yields a talking shotgun that is every bit as funny as it is powerful.
