Marcus Holloway

It’s about being the master of his own destiny after being arrested for a crime he didn’t commit because ctOS’s criminal algorithms spotlighted him for the crime.
And it’s about planting a virus in Blume’s system that will disrupt their data gathering operations and protecting people from the mistakes that cost Marcus his future.
Marcus is driven to become one of the greatest hackers in history, regardless of the dangers and risk he needs to take. Because of his background, he never really had a chance to show his potential. Instead of conforming to the box that society forced him into, he wants to tear it all down.
His need for a family that appreciates him is what makes him care deeply about his friends. His charisma and wit make him a natural leader. He is the embodiment of San Francisco culture. He’s ready to try everything once. Marcus is the first to spring into action and he isn’t afraid to get in trouble.
Sitara Dhawan
Sitara’s taken full advantage of the education system. She’s studied marketing, psychology, PR, and just about anything related to art, but most of her hacking ability is self-taught.
She thought moving away from the shallow LA culture to downtown SF would be a healthy change, but found hollow celebrities replaced by soulless tech giants. It’s a perfect place for her artistic rebellion—where culture is being crushed by a cold industry.
DedSec is her chosen tool to fight back and she’s carefully crafting the SF group in her image, making sure every public message is on-point and every logo packs a punch.
The Wrench
DedSec knows a guy who is part hacker and full-fledged anarchist. He wears a freaky mask with a display capable of bizarre emoticons.
He shows up for parties, slipping the beer bottle under the mask. Few people have seen his real face…but he’s cute. He denies it.
He’s vulgar, crude, entertaining, and an absolute adrenaline junkie—he lives on the edge.
Josh Sauchak
When you meet Josh, it’s easy to notice his lack of gregariousness. He’s quiet and introverted, and maybe there’s borderline elements of that in his personality, but the fact is, Josh is a genius.
Talking to you is just slowing him down and he’s already dispensing with the small talk and harvesting the useful tidbits. He seems impatient, but it’s because he doesn’t bother with beating around the bush. He doesn’t have time for that.
Horatio Carlin
Horatio was raised in a troubled household and found solace hiding on the internet and listening to music…whatever allowed him to escape into his own head and away from the shouting.
As his home life spiraled out of control, Horatio regained control over his life by learning to code and hack. It felt good, exerting control over the internet when everything else around him was going to s--t.
Fortunately, Horatio proved skilled and talented enough to apply for a job at Nudle and to get hired. It was something few people in his family had: a career with benefits and a retirement package.
T-Bone Grady
Raymond “T-Bone” Kenney is one of the founding fathers of the ctOS and the first in line to tear it all down. This hacking veteran normally despises “script kiddies” like DedSec, but after meeting Marcus, he’s softened his stance. Ray becomes a pivotal force in DedSec’s transition from pranksters to hacktivists and, with DedSec, he’s closer than ever to finally paying Blume back for ruining his life. Ray is grumpy, cynical, and usually drunk before lunchtime, but beneath the rough exterior, he’s the best ally a hacker could ask for. He’s a skilled programmer, a “maker” junk artist, and a master hacker.
Miranda Comay
A longtime friend of Marcus’ family, Miranda Comay is a city councilor who has been through the trenches. She’s even taken on the incredibly powerful New Dawn, a religious cult with seemingly endless resources and a willingness to publicly shame and slander its opponents. Miranda’s not afraid to butt heads with criminals, but she’s also experienced enough to see allies in Marcus and his group of misfit hackers.
