Watch Dogs 2 eGuide Training Part 6: Gadgets And Weapons

Melee Combat

No guns? No problem! One of the safest, quietest, and most proficient ways of taking down an enemy is through melee combat. This section details all the different ways you can tackle foes quietly: the fundamentals of stealth infiltrations.

Melee Combat While Not Detected: Marcus performs a nonlethal stealth takedown, which is slow but quiet. Usually this is a throttle or strangle from behind, but it can be a kick in the back. How quiet? Silent enough that other enemies won’t hear you; additional foes are only alerted if they have a direct visual of your takedown. As this is the most silent of all takedown techniques—quieter than the stun gun or suppressed weapon fire—Steal practitioners should use this as much as possible.

Melee Combat While in Active Combat: Marcus performs a melee knockout with his Thunderball weapon, which is fast, but the noise attracts attention. It’s still a very potent attack and is fantastic for bringing down attack dogs and enemies of any type, including armored ones, but the noise means resorting to other weapons and more violent attacks, or hiding, or fleeing afterward.
