Objectives

Hack Graystrom’s warehouse computer.

Brief

Looks like Graystrom is in bed with local authorities to steal private information from San Francisco’s civilians. You don’t have the big picture yet, but we can do some damage.

Location

Graystrom Warehouse, Waterfront, San Francisco.

The warehouse is north of WKZ Station and east of Pier 39. Drive there, and when you’re close to the objective point, figure out one of the following methods of reaching and hacking the Graystrom computer.

Infiltration Points

Barrels on the West Side:

This is where your GPS takes you. It offers good hiding spots behind the barrels, crates, and a parked van. It is also far enough away from the dog and guard to allow you to move and aim your taser. RC device activities are excellent from here, too.

Crates on the East Side:

Crouch behind the crates here, but watch for the guard at the base of the stairs, his nearby dog, and a foe patrolling the eastern roof corner; he can easily spot you if you’re sneaking in from here. Remaining out of the restricted area and using the RC Jumper is a better plan from this point.

Water on the North Side:

You can arrive in a boat and climb up the pier onto the concrete, too, if you wish. Sniping three guards and a dog from the water is also possible.

POIs and Objective Points

Closed-Circuit Terminal

This CCT is located on the perimeter wall under the metal stairs, where the dog and initial guard are patrolling. This is a mandatory hack, as it opens the door to the roof cabin where the objective is.

Data Container

Found inside the locked concrete cabin on the roof at the pier’s north end. It requires a physical interaction.

Paths to Completion

Jumper on the Roof

Remain out of the restricted area, and drop your RC Jumper. Use NetHack to watch the dog and guard on the ground floor, and dart to the base of the stairs when they aren’t looking. Unlock the CCT, then drive up the stairs, watching for the two foes on the roof. Drive directly to the concrete cabin. Hack the door and it swings open (now the terminal is unlocked). Drive inside, and complete the data container hack.

Tasing to Get the Truth

Enter from IP1, remaining at long range and tasing the dog before he smells you. Tase the guard coming over to inspect the dog. Then move to the closed-circuit box and unlock it. Climb the metal stairs, but train your taser at the roof’s eastern corner. A guard should patrol and stand at this point, and he can easily see you if you ascend the stairs. So head up them slowly, and tase him before he sees you.

This leaves the last guard standing close to the roof entrance from the stairs. When he moves away, tase, melee, or strangle him. Then open the concrete cabin door and hack the data container inside.

Appearing a Little Uncouth

There are few guards, but the two on the roof aren’t easy to neutralize once the alarm is raised. Sniping from the water is one option. Another is quick tagging of the dog and ground guard and a swift stairs assault. If you traveled here by vehicle, spin it around to face inland, so you can quickly return to it and escape.

After you hack the data container, you leave a present in their hardware, and the mission concludes.
