Law enforcement forces are always friendly toward one another. Umeni-Zulu are private security forces that guard many restricted areas. They are quick to summon their own Umeni backup and police reinforcements. The police step in when innocents call you on your actions or when a restricted area turns into an explosive bloodbath. Expect to outrun them several times as your Heat level increases. Expect to encounter the FBI during your Main Operations.
Umeni-Zulu Security Corporation
Umeni-Zulu began by providing the U.S. government with cryptographic technology products before expanding their service into collecting intelligence both domestically and internationally. They contract for the CIA and have been involved in paramilitary actions across the world as well as utilizing cybersecurity in a variety of clandestine actions. They are a highly private group that keeps itself hidden well from public scrutiny, but they have been accused of being a MOSSAD front and even a CIA front. This is leading to speculation that some para-military corporations (PMCs) may be intelligence-gathering fronts for domestic and foreign interests.
Oakland And San Francisco Police Departments
The SF police formed in 1849 during the Gold Rush and now includes the San Francisco International Airport Police. They are known for protest and riot control and considered a pioneering force for modern law enforcement. In 2014, they graduated their first official transgender officer.
Homeland Security Unit: Works closely with other agencies and the SFPD to improve overall security of the city.
Patrol Special Police: Privately funded, these armed security police are paid by local businesses to work the beat. They are regulated by an SFP Commission but are not a part of the police. After allegations of abuse of power in 2009, they were forced to change uniforms to look like security guards.
SWAT: This unit coordinates with the FBI, DEA, and ATF. They train in-house and with FBI and private military firms. Known as an elite unit.
Fbi (Federal Bureau Of Investigation)
The FBI (formally the AFI, or American Federal Investigations) has cyber action teams (CATs) in each of their 56 field offices around the United States, with about 1,000 specially trained agents. The squads include agents, analysts, computer forensic techs, and malicious code experts. Each CAT must be self-sufficient and carry enough computer gear, software, and forensic equipment to run a six-month investigation. They are ready to deploy internationally at a moment’s notice. CATs run ops and share intel with agencies, including the Secret Service and 16 other law and intelligence partners that are part of the National Cyber Investigative Joint Task Force. The Task Force operates threat focus cells that address specific threats. One is the BotNet Focus Cell that investigates high-priority BotNets and reverse-engineers them in an attempt to disrupt them.
