Use mass hacks to cause a great deal of havoc and confusion in a single instant. Unlock them using your ./Research app. Once you have access to one, two, or all three of them, hold up on your D-pad to access the Equipment Wheel. Choose one of the bottom three options (first picture). Then use the Mass Hack button (usually the right shoulder button) to employ the hack. There are three to try:
Mass Systems Crash: This shuts down all hackable objects in an area. This can be highly dangerous if you have a security door between you and an exit, as this locks, preventing progress. However, if enemies are behind security doors, they become stuck. Gates won’t open, and no objects can be hacked by either you or the enemy. This allows you to flee more easily, which is particularly useful during online bounty hunts and invasions where you need to cripple a rival’s capabilities.
Mass Vehicle Hack: This causes a large number of vehicles in the vicinity to remotely move in a random direction. You can’t control the direction, but the sheer number of vehicles makes this is a perfect way to cause a car crash, allowing you to speed away to safety. This is a good way to stop pursuers and a better way to end online bounty hunts and invasions in your favor.
Mass Comms Disruptor: This distracts all citizens and enemies in a nearby area. If a firefight is getting out of hand or you’re in danger of being spotted, getting every foe in a restricted area to take a phone call can be incredibly useful. It’s even better during co-op operations if you do it once and your friend does it a second time! This has all the benefits of the Distract hack, but it affects most enemies at once.
