Difficulty
Brief
After he was caught cutting the purity of the cartel’s cocaine, El Yayo was placed under house arrest. It’s time to go get him. Expect heavy resistance. The guards have orders to kill El Yayo if he tries to escape.
Let’s Take El Yayo low and Slow
Start at Espiritu Santo Charlie, and trek about one click south, through the jungle, and assault the small buchon house, taking care to reach El Yayo before cartel members gun him down. Drag El Yayo down to a waiting vehicle, and get him to the nearest rally point.
Buchon House: Recon
TACMAP
Expect seven foes to face, and additional vehicle reinforcements heading down the main road (from the northwest) if the infiltration turns noisy. Note the map doesn’t distinguish the enemies on the lower or upper floors; watch for an enemy on the upper balcony adjacent to El Yayo’s central upper floor study, and another at the top of the stairs. The rest are downstairs, or around the edge of the building.
Main Entrance
The two driveway openings are visible as you round the corner and enter the buchon house from this direction. It’s worth laying some traps here (mines, or C4) to stop enemy reinforcements. Drop explosives on the road or at one of the driveway entrances, but don’t drive over these yourself when you’re extracting El Yayo! Also parked here are a number of cartel vehicles; take your pick if you need one to escape in.
Pergola To Dining Room
If you’re facing the mansion, this access point is on the left side. This is an excellent spot for infiltration, as you can head under the pergola, through the dining room, then across the lower floor (heading northeast) to the interior stairs, and up to reach El Yayo. Expect one foe along the way. This is also a possible exit route, if you’re under fire.
Garage Doors To Stairwell
If you’re facing the mansion, this access point is on your right side. Though there are more foes, this is a more direct path to the stairwell; enter the double doors that are open, then head directly southeast to the stairwell, and up to El Yayo. Or, you can sneak through the exterior courtyard to the open door on the right side, under the stone arch balcony; there’s an entrance there, too.
There are other access points, but these are the breakable windows into the ground floor of the mansion, all on the courtyard interior. But as foes can see you even passing by the windows, never mind smashing them, these aren’t helpful unless you’re planning a speedy rescue.
Farm Shed And Mansion Rear
You can quietly lurk in the back yard of the buchon house, and grab patrolling foes from behind, dropping them with melee strangles, which are absolutely silent; this deals with two to three foes. You can also shoot out some of the windows to create a disturbance, though this can lead to El Yayo being executed. There are no entrances from this direction, however.

Buchon House: Other Tactical Advice
Try to get as far as you can, heading up to El Yayo’s upstairs study, using stealth tactics. This means suppressed weapons, and taking a chance at melee kills instead of weapons, as these are silent (even suppressed weapons freak out the buchon house servants, causing the cartel to realize something is wrong).
One path is to start at B, lobbing a diversion grenade in the opposite direction (toward C), then jumping the low wall, around the perimeter, and continuing into the dining room. Strangle the enemy, then creep around to the right, heading southeast to the stairs. Drop another enemy, climb the stairs, then enter El Yayo’s room, remove the foe on the nearby balcony (or watch for him), then order your team to the main courtyard to remove all further foes. Remain on the balcony and mow down any reinforcements heading in from A, before grabbing , and shoving him into any vehicle parked in the courtyard outside and below.
While you defend the mansion from the incoming vehicles, place a mine at the top of the stairs, so any foes encroaching on El Yayo’s study while you’re preoccupied firing from the balcony get a nasty (and deadly) surprise.
With multiple Ghosts, you can easily storm this house, removing foes (head into each of the three ground-floor entrances at once so the enemy has zero time to react), and then once the mansion is clear, position one Ghost to protect El Yayo, and the others closer to B and C (heading on the balcony, or courtyard ground) to deal with incoming reinforcements.
Extraction To Espiritu Santo Charlie
Extraction should go off without a hitch, if you’ve removed most (or all) of the foes at the Buchon House, and El Yayo is safely seated in your chosen vehicle (or helicopter). Deliver him to Bowman. The old man isn’t prepared to talk with his wife and son still in danger, so you’ve another objective to fulfill.
In for the Kin
You’re less than 600 meters from the village of Bahia Floresta where El Yayo’s wife and grown son are located. The plan is to enter the settlement, find where the targets are being held (a cell in the main central building), and extract them to the same rally point. As ever, the cartel cannot be allowed to kill these targets.
Bahia Floresta: Recon
TACMAP
A small jungle village, now partly run by the cartel, who have most of their troops on the east side of the settlement. El Yayo’s family is in the central house, and the only real problems are the enemies in the multi-level buildings to the east, as well as the house itself.
SOUTH: MAIN ROAD
A journey down the main road from the rally point should be halted before you enter the village, as there’s a sniper who can easily spot you, on the west balcony of the target building (E) and two guards at the entrance. Instead, park behind one of the buildings, and either spread out in different directions (solo members send their team to the foes at D, while Co-op teammates can fan out and attack E from different directions).
There is only one entrance into the target building (southeast corner), aside from windows you can break and the balcony, but enemies only head in from the doorway. This means you can hang back and cover the area, or advance to the fountain, and sprint across into the structure as there’s a foe inside, and the sniper on the balcony, too. Make him your priority takedown as soon as you reach the village.
Northwest: Market Stalls
Entering from here is a good idea as there are very few foes between you and the target building. You can drop the sniper, and the foe at the concrete barrier, before sprinting round to the southeast doorway (round the north side of the building, as there are fewer foes). Or, stay on the north side of the target building and shoot out the window you can climb through (left of the wooden scaffold). Or, hang back near the stalls, providing covering fire, but advance soon as the majority of the foes are on the opposite side of the village.
A good rough-and-ready plan is to drive a vehicle and park it under the balcony, climb onto the vehicle roof, up and onto the balcony, and enter the target building via this route.
Northeast: Gasoline Station
You can create distractions and havoc by blowing this up, engaging the enemies here, and causing a commotion while the rest of the team enters the target building. Or, you can skulk on the outside of the wooden fence perimeter, climbing forward and back, and tagging foes with silenced weapons. Another option is to climb the green multi-floor building next to the gas pumps. This provides good views of the target building, and you can shoot foes atop the roof of the next tall structure, to the west of you.
Southeast: Multi-Floor Buildings
A concentration of enemies are in this part of the village, by two multi-floor buildings. The white one is less impressive than the wood-and-metal structure, which has a flat third-floor roof you can climb to the top of, and offers excellent covering fire to Ghosts storming the target building. Plus, you can leave a mine on the stairs to dissuade visitors.
It’s important to clear these foes out (but not as important as rescuing the targets quickly, so send your team here in Solo mode while you storm the target building). Note the rebels you can free from a cage behind the white building. Approaching from the jungle to the southeast is easy too, as the perimeter fence is climbable.
Bahia Floresta: Other Tactical Advice
Exhibit the same haste as you did when extracting El Yayo. Drive to the target building, running over foes if you can, but park outside the southeast entrance (a little way from the door, so if the vehicle explodes, you can park another when you’re bundling the targets into the vehicle), dash in, and shoot the foe near the cells. Then head to the balcony and remove the sniper. Lay a mine atop the steps and the doorway, and then wait for your team to help remove all threats, while you take cover, using the windows to shoot through. Stay here until you and your team have defeated all foes, then appropriate any vehicle (or the adjacent helicopter), and extract both targets to the rally point, just as before.
If you want to announce your arrival, you could always fly and jump out of a chopper, landing atop the target building roof, and head inside. For a stealthy plan, simply pick your favorite insertion spot (D is good, as if it all goes sideways, you have some height and defenses to play with), and clear the enemies from the outer areas in.
Extraction is a little easier with teammates as you can approach in a crossfire maneuver from A, B, C, and D and catch foes as you converge on the target building. You can also have more than one vehicle waiting, in case one of them is destroyed. But having at least one Ghost storm the building and defend it before the enemy even knows what’s going on, and two other Ghosts outflanking the rest of the confused foes, is a great way to finish this mission competently.
