Brief

We’ve received word from Pac Katari that one of his rebels might have a location on El Sueño. Talk to the rebel and find out what he knows.

Fubar In Pucara

The rendezvous point for one of Pac Katari’s rebels is about a kilometer northeast of Montyoc Bravo. Head there immediately.

The rendezvous doesn’t go quite as well as expected; when you reach the top of the steps, maneuvering through some ancient pre-columbian graves of this hillside necropolis, you see your contact has been slain. A quick ID confirms him to be the rebel leader Amaru (from your first mission). After contacting Bowman, who’s with Pac Katari, the line goes dead. You need to get to Bowman and fast!

You have three minutes to get from the RV point to the village of Charamokho, which is southeast and across some pretty rough tundra and hillside terrain. Failure to reach the compound building at the northwest corner of the village, results in mission failure. Expect little to no enemies at the small mansion compound near the helipad; just get there in time! Head to the front door (south side) and barge in.

Inside, Bowman explains Pac Katari and the rebels double-crossed her, and are currently heading for the massive mausoleum to make El Sueño a martyr. This cannot be allowed to happen; El Sueño needs to be taken alive.

Montuyoc To Pucara: Other Tactical Advice

Though you can take the main road, it’s quicker to try a direct path from the RP to Bowman’s last known location. However, if you’re biking down these scree slopes, expect to fall off at least a couple of times. It’s worth arriving here in an off-road military vehicle or helicopter. Then the journey to Pucara is much easier.

You can also start the journey to Pucara as soon as the body is identified, while you’re talking to Bowman, and before the timer starts, to save you some time.

Kingslayer

Charamokho Village is now besieged by rebels, who are all hostile. With only 15 minutes to reach the Mausoleum, it’s wise to ignore these foes and leave the village as quickly as possible.

You now have 15 minutes to reach the massive mausoleum in Pucara. This is the location you stormed during the search for DJ Perico, so the maps and tactical advice from that mission apply here. The only difference? The place is packed with foes, and the time limit means stealth is out of the question.

Travel by road, and the rebels attempt to stop you on the way out from Charamokho village. They have vehicles parked on the road, and foot-soldiers firing at you. Barrel straight through any enemies and vehicles, or swerve and cut corners along the steep switchbacks between here and the bottom of the mountain.

Drive either directly over the dam (which has a large number of enemies, and ramps to take as you cross), or better yet, use the road around the edge of the dam, then head along the road, or take the railroad tracks to the base of the mausoleum mountain.

From there, you need to hike up through the various cartel-infested yards, all detailed during Main Mission: DJ Perico. There’s little time for subtlety; just take an armored SUV (preferably with a turret) and drive as far up the stone-stepped path to the mausoleum entrance as you can. Ram barriers, try to maneuver over or around obstacles, and get to the front door with seconds to spare.

Or just fly there, and land at the pillared entrance with about 13 minutes to spare. Just watch for incoming missiles and gunfire from enemy helicopters along the way.

To The Mausoleum: Tactical Advice

For minimum enemy contact, run to the helipad in Charamokho village, and pilot it away from the gunfire, then across the terrain, and land it by the mausoleum entrance, giving you only one or two enemies at the massive mausoleum doors to kill. Stay low during the flight and as you ascend the mausoleum mountain.

If your ground vehicle succumbs to enemy fire, there are plenty of alternatives, or you can climb the scree slope from the northwest side of the railroad to reach the yard by the main mausoleum doors without having to navigate the enemy-filled lower yards.

Co-op planning allows you to have a variety of quality vehicles at your disposal as the mission commences. While heading from the village on bikes is as hilarious a plan as it is dangerous, taking two or more helicopters, a convoy of armored vehicles, and storming the place or accessing the mausoleum quickly, displays a degree of competency you can be proud of.

Ending: El Martir

If you completed all the mandatory Main Missions, but did not complete those marked “Optional”, (or this is your first time completing this mission) the conversation with El Sueño ends a bit abruptly…

Ending: El Informante

If you completed every single Main Mission, including all those flagged as “Optional”, the conversation with El Sueño ends with Bowman taking him into custody, and him serving at the pleasure of the U.S. government.
