Brief
The bank account number obtained at Media Luna has provided the identities of Reed’s top henchmen—Carlos and Hernando Guerrero, also known as the Undertakers. Track down the Undertakers and find out what they know about Reed.
Dead Men Walking
About 1.8 clicks north of Rally Point Remanzo Alpha, and about the same distance east of Koani Bravo across the salt flats, is an odd little hotel built of salt bricks. It’s the current location of Carlos Guerrero, one of the Undertakers. Pinpoint and follow him.
Salt Hotel: Recon
TACMAP
A small central building with a couple of store shacks sits to the east, surrounded by dotted ruins and salt piles for you to use as cover. Finding Carlos is easy; he’s watching TV inside the hotel.
East Road
Simply pull your car up anywhere around this point, ideally off the road so Carlos can drive past your vehicle (stay behind cover while this happens), and use a drone to pinpoint Carlos in the hotel.
South Ruins
Jog southwest from the main road and take cover within this small collection of crumbling stones. View Carlos via drone through the window or doorway of the hotel. Stay here until he passes the main road, then follow him.
West Salt Flats
You can head directly from Rally Point Koani Bravo and park here, but watch for patrolling foes near this small pile of ruins. This is the most problematic spot to remain hidden at, so think about moving north or south instead.
North Salt Piles
These are good to hide behind as you send up your drone to sweep the area.

Salt Hotel: Other Tactical Advice
Slow on the main road at A before pulling off and parking behind a building, so Carlos can freely leave without seeing you. Or head to one of the previously listed vantage points. Bring out your drone and hover it at the front doorway (southeast corner) so you can easily see Carlos. Then wait for him to head to his car, and follow him.
You can also creep up and peer through the window, physically pass near the door, and tag the small complement of cartel thugs without making a sound (stealth takedowns only), but this is unnecessary.
Tailing Carlos
Once Carlos leaves the Salt Hotel, keep more than 50 but less than 300 meters between you and his vehicle. Note that you don’t need to be on the road; you can follow Carlos at the edge of the salt flats heading northeast, to the objective location. Feel free to order your team to the next location prior to Carlos arriving, as the journey isn’t eventful. When Carlos arrives at the Koani Lithium Mine, your recon of this location can begin (or conclude if your teammates have already checked it out):
Koani Lithium Mine: Recon
TACMAP
This mine facility has only a few foes to deal with, a porous perimeter, and little need for clearing, as you can scare the target into fleeing in a vehicle, which means you don’t need to set foot in here. However, if you’re here to clear, the most trouble crops up around the target warehouse and up on the vat gantries to the north; pay special attention at these locations.
Southwest Perimeter
Park here, close to the buildings in the southern part of this area, for excellent access to the cabin stacks to the right of the entrance where Carlos drove through. The cabins allow elevated views, and one of the open-ground cabins offers a quick infiltration through it and into the mine facility. The entrance itself only has one or two foes, and this is the fastest way to start a lot of noise, prompting Hernando to flee.
Southeast Perimeter
Aside from a few patrolling foes (including a group of two) between this perimeter and the warehouse where Hernando and Carlos meet, there’s little to stop you from entering the base, removing any close foes silently, and creeping up to the rear (southeast) entrance into the warehouse. From here you can sprint and grab Hernando, ready for extraction, or tag his brother and other foes, clearing the warehouse out before pursuing Hernando by vehicle.
Northeast Perimeter
The large vats and gantry present a couple of armored foes and a sniper to contend with, but these are relatively easily neutralized if you creep around from B or D. The gantry provides good views of the entire base, which is helpful in Co-op missions, but you’re a little far from Hernando if he flees. If this happens, head down and out to a vehicle (sometimes a military SUV) parked at the north-road exit.
Northwest Perimeter
With few foes and a direct view into the warehouse, you can get a positive ID on Hernando easily, as well as demolish the parked vehicles near the warehouse and exit so he can’t escape by vehicle. Or you can pull into the base here, spook Hernando into fleeing, and give chase immediately.

Koani Lithium Mine: Other Tactical Advice
There are two main plans available to you here: spook Hernando into fleeing in his pickup and give chase, or apprehend him inside this mine facility, usually after all other foes (and his brother) are dead.
Be ready near a fast and sturdy vehicle, parked near A. After using your drone to find all foes, fire indiscriminately (at the foe by the entrance hut, for example) until Hernando flees. Or destroy barrels or the propane tank on the northeast side of the warehouse. Then give chase.
Or sneak throughout the base, starting at A and removing the foe at the gate. Move on to B, around to C for the sniper and gantry foes, then snipe the patrol of two with a single sniper round that passes through both of them. Clear the rest silently until only Carlos and Hernando remain. Then storm the warehouse, take down Carlos, and grab his brother. Or, sneak to the vehicles and set explosives without being seen, lob in some grenades, and remove all vehicles that Hernando can reach so he has nowhere to go. Then collar him.
Helicopters are more helpful in Co-op, as you have the luxury of keeping a pilot on standby to follow the fleeing brother, strafe the mine facility and cause a ruckus, or pick up Hernando for extraction.
Otherwise, a silent takedown of all foes is much easier if you have Ghosts approaching from multiple angles (A, B, C, and/or D).
Chasing Hernando
Did Hernando escape? Chalk this one up to bad planning, but you still need the information from him. Drive immediately to intercept his pickup. It isn’t chaperoned by cartel vehicles, meaning you don’t need to fire a single shot. The only slight worry? You need Hernando alive!
Hernando’s Chase: Other Tactical Advice

This mission gets a whole lot simpler if you ensure your ambush location isn’t near an enemy stronghold. You don’t need the extra and unwanted hassle of engaging cartel henchmen when all you need to do is drag a guy from his vehicle and slap him around a bit.
You can wave down the truck with your guns pointed at the driver, but he usually takes off, running you over in the process. However, you can grab him from his vehicle (possible but difficult). Or you can ram him off the road (in Co-op, each player can use a vehicle to pin him more quickly and from multiple sides), or bash the truck until it catches fire.
Or your whole team can ride in an armored truck and ram the enemy vehicle while shooting at it (but not the driver). When Hernando exits the vehicle, bundle him into a second vehicle if you’re close to an enemy installation, or simply interrogate him. The mission then concludes.
