Shotguns

Shotguns are the kings of close-quarters combat. If you find yourself boxed in on all sides, a shotgun will be a port in a storm. Boasting high Damage and a bullet spread that makes aiming almost needless, shotguns are a point and shoot weapon for when enemies start invading your personal space. There are few who could withstand a shotgun blast to the chest at point-blank range, even with armor, which is what makes shotguns so good at what they do. You aren’t going to get a big magazine or a high Rate of Fire. You’re not going to be hitting anyone that’s more than 15 feet away, but once an enemy is in a shotgun’s kill zone, there will be no saving them.

Super Shorty

HOW TO UNLOCK: FOUND IN ITACUA

Your standard bread ‘n’ butter shotgun, the Super Shorty is on the lower end of the spectrum in terms of power, but has almost a full handling bar. Like any shotgun, you’ll need to be up close and personal to take anyone out, but once you’re in close, pull the trigger and your target will be dust. You’ll have to watch out; the Super Shorty only has two rounds to fire before you need to reload, so make sure to plan your shots accordingly.

SASG-12

HOW TO UNLOCK: FOUND IN P.N. DE AGUA VERDE

The Damage on the SASG-12 could be better, but being able to hold the trigger to unload buckshot death on an enemy more than makes up for it. You’re not getting a lot in the way of stats, but with a shotgun your job is to be close enough to inspect your target’s pores, so the only real stat that matters is Damage. A five-round chamber and rapid-fire shooting makes this hole puncher a quality shotgun.

HOW TO UNLOCK: FOUND IN LA CRUZ

Quite possibly the most well-known shotgun in the world, the SPAS-12 is the gun to get if you like to get nice and close for your kills. With nearly-maxed-out damage and a fast Rate of Fire, there are few things in this world that would be able to survive your attacks with this gun. You’re not going to get much done if you fire this weapon at a distance, but you know that already; you’re here to turn enemies into pin cushions and this gun does not disappoint.

El Cuentista - Exotic

HOW TO UNLOCK: DEFEAT EL WEY

El Cuentista is basically the Super Shorty with a custom paint job. El Cuentista does take a hit to Damage compared to the Shorty, but the stats are nearly identical otherwise. A very straight-forward shotgun that you might use more for swag than for function.

El Obsequio - Exotic

HOW TO UNLOCK: DEFEAT EL PULPO

El Obsequio looks like a modified SPAS-12, but this weapon has higher Accuracy, Handling, Range, Penetration and is one of only four weapons to have max Damage. If you already like the SPAS-12, then there is no reason for you not to use this weapon if you can get your hands on it. A fast-firing, monster-slaying shotgun that can fell even the sturdiest of opponents; not bad, if we say so ourselves.

¡SILENCIO! - Exotic

HOW TO UNLOCK: DEFEAT EL SUEÑO

A modified SASG-12 with a focus on stealth over power. Even with a suppressor attached, the SASG-12 is going to put out more Damage than this weapon, but where ¡SILENCIO! makes its mark is in its maxed out Noise Reduction stat and its massive twenty-round magazine. You’re not going to be picking off enemies at a distance with this weapon, but if you get up close to one they’ll never live to tell the tale.
