Brief
Santa Blanca has moved El Chido’s concert to a remote mountain peak and surrounded the singer with cartel bodyguards. The only way to disrupt the publicity tour now is to enter the venue and extract El Chido during the concert.
Bolivian Idol
Driving, hiking, or flying to the giant Santa Muerte statue atop the north mountains of this province allows you to look at a secret concert already in progress. Even a cursory glance shows the place is filled with cartel thugs (many of them Captains), along with a small crowd, and additional troops dotted throughout the tight confines of this area. Be exceptionally careful about your planning prior to pulling the plug on this concert.
Santa Muerte Icon: Recon
TACMAP
Dominating the mountaintop is the huge idol of Santa Muerte, but this figure doesn’t play a role in the completion of the mission; it is positioned on the west side of this mountain hideout. The only road comes in from the northwest, and is used when El Chido escapes. The concert itself is occurring along the southern edge of the mountain, just below and southeast of the idol. There’s a few buildings and a parking area in the central-east part of the base where the road ends, and a small chapel on the eastern edge. Note the goat trail just east of that.
Main Road
It’s worth parking a vehicle out of view of the armored minigun operator who sits just to the right (west) of the hideout entrance. Driving straight into this base simply results in chaos, and El Chido fleeing (which is actually what you want to happen, though it negates all recon planning). Instead, approach the entrance from B or D so you can avoid or remove the small cluster of guards (around four) without the others seeing you.
Also note the military SUV usually parked just inside the entrance, by an open warehouse structure. Use it to chase down El Chido if you’ve no better option. There’s a vehicle usually parked close to that too, which is El Chido’s alternate means of escape if the first car is destroyed prior to his reaching it.
Northwest Rocks
This is a good spot to hike up from; aim to be west of the minigun operator, and creep around to the base of the massive idol so you can peer down at the concert and ascertain all the cartel captains (the bodyguards) at the gig. You can take potshots from here, though you don’t have time to finish off many foes before needing to apprehend El Chido. Use this infiltration point for the view, and the relatively easy access to the parked SUV near A (just inside the base entrance).
West Scree Slope
You’ll need to climb this on foot or by bike, and if you choose to execute all the captains in the concert area, and force El Chido away from either escape vehicle, he may run to this area, allowing you to grab and wrestle him down the mountain to a nearby road. This area has piles of marker stones and a small effigy of Santa Muerte. This isn’t a great place to maneuver in from as you don’t have the height advantage, or anywhere to retreat to.
Northeast Rock Outcrop
The flat rocks between the entrance area to the west, and the chapel to the east, are a good spot for lying down to recon the area. You can see (and shoot at) the foes at the chapel, the enemies around the entrance (including the minigun armored foe you can snipe from here), and the route El Chido takes to one of the parked cars at the end of the main road. It’s easy to destroy this car so he has to run to a second vehicle parked near A. The only drawback of this area is that it’s not that close to a vehicle, so giving chase is difficult unless you made it here by bike.
East Chapel
Hike or bike up to this point via the goat trail, and use the rocks around the chapel to quickly ascertain where the cluster of around six foes are in this vicinity. You can also creep west toward the target area from this point too, if you remain south of the chapel and the perimeter fencing. This is a good point if your team is intent on neutralizing all foes, but you’re very far from the escape route El Chido takes.
Santa Muerte Idol: Tactical Advice
Park a vehicle down by A, but out of sight of your foes, then hike up and around to B, crouch by the foot of the Santa Muerte idol, and watch the concert. When you’ve seen the target, order your team down to attack while you dash back, get into your preferred vehicle, wait for El Chido to drive past you, and then give chase. Alternatives to this involve just shooting close to the entrance so panic starts, and retreating without even having to enter the hideout. Or, use a bike to reach an area where you can see the target, and stay on your bike to chase him. Or, commandeer one of the three vehicles mentioned previously, inside the base, and use one of those to reach your target when he runs.
El Chido runs east up the hill from the concert area, then around to the main road and a waiting car, and uses it to drive away north down the only road. If that car is destroyed, he finds a second vehicle parked just inside the base entrance, near the parked military SUV and behind the minigun nest. If both those are destroyed, he runs on foot. As it’s a lot easier to capture El Chido once he’s fled, and you only have to deal with him (he’s a lover, not a fighter) instead of a half dozen cartel bodyguards (captains) and a host of thugs, you’re encouraged to let El Chido escape. Just make sure you have a sturdy vehicle to chase him in (or steal the parked military SUV just inside the base).
With three other Ghosts, you have a better chance of removing all threats at the base and capturing El Chido all at the same time. Any of the previous plans are worth attempting, but for a real professional method of showing the cartel you mean business, have two Ghosts at B, and one at D and E.
The Ghosts at B should have already cleared the foes at the entrance without making any noise. Then start a simultaneous assault. Have both Ghosts at B start executing the captains around the edge of the amphitheater. The Ghosts at D and E should (at the same time) tackle the six foes by the chapel, catching three each in quick succession. When the chapel foes are removed, the Ghosts at D and E should destroy El Chido’s escape vehicles while the Ghosts at B are mopping up the stragglers. With no vehicle to use, El Chido is easily captured soon afterward. Alternatively, you could have a fourth Ghost in a vehicle (which could be an SUV or a chopper) ready to give chase.
Extraction: To Malca Charlie
Follow El Chido in his vehicle, and bring it to a stop with ramming, shunting, or destroying the engine by shooting it everywhere except the driver’s area. Grab El Chido when he leaves the vehicle, then bundle him into a vehicle (or chopper) of your choosing, and drive him (carefully) to the extraction point to the southwest. After Bowman gets her hands on him, he really starts to sing. The mission then concludes.
Target: Concert Amphitheater and El Chido
