Your drone is your most useful tool in the hunt for El Sueño. With it you can search through enemy encampments to spot their locations, use it as a distraction, or even detonate it to blow up nearby enemies and objectives. Before entering an enemy camp, you should always pull your drone out and use it to scout your surroundings.
Marking
Like your binoculars, the drone can be used to mark enemy locations. To do this, simply look at an enemy and an orange symbol appears above their heads. This symbol can be seen through walls and at great distances, meaning you’ll always have an idea of where they are.
Explosive
If you like making a lot of noise, you can upgrade the Explosive skill under the DRONE tree and cause some mayhem. Just fly your drone up to a group of enemies, a SAM site, or a generator and detonate the drone, damaging anything unlucky enough to be nearby.
Medic
If one of your teammates is injured and down, instead of rushing over and reviving him or her, potentially putting yourself in harm’s way, you can use the Medic Payload option to have your drone do the reviving for you.
Noisemaker
If you upgrade the Noisemaker skill under the DRONE tree, you’ll be able to use your drone to gather nearby enemies or simply distract them while you slip in undetected.
EMP
The EMP functions like the Explosive Package, but it’s instead geared specifically toward disabling electronics. An EMP will cause all nearby enemies to be more cautious, but it won’t trigger a full alert and hunt for you.
