Light machine guns are not accurate, nor are they stable, but when you’ve got a 150-round ammo drum attached to the bottom of your weapon, you don’t need to concern yourself with accuracy. These behemoths often have a good Damage stat and can hold massive amounts of ammunition. Don’t expect to do a lot of stealthing about with one of these in hand, but when you find yourself backed into a corner and surrounded by enemies, this gun is your best friend. The best way to use this weapon is as a suppression device. Lay down a storm of bullets to keep enemies under control while your teammates come in on their flanks and take them out. LMGs are also spectacular for taking on vehicles.
The LMG you are most likely to find first, the MG121 does exactly what you’d expect an LMG to do: shoot a lot of bullets without stopping. Since it is basically a starter weapon you shouldn’t expect anything superior about it, but that doesn’t mean it won’t cover all of machine gun needs. High Damage, magazine size, and Penetration are the name of a light machine gun’s game and the MG121 has all of these in spades.
You lose a bit of Damage and Penetration on this weapon compared to the MG121, but what you get in return is more stability. While LMGs are generally very hard to handle, this one gives you a bit of levity by allowing the chance to wrangle the muzzle climb and wild swaying that are so common with this weapon type. That being said, don’t expect to be able to completely control this weapon. If you’re trying to take out enemies, shooting in bursts will help keep things under control. Otherwise hold the trigger if you’re looking to keep enemies suppressed; this gun has a magazine size that perfect for it.
Like the Mk249, this LMG trades a little bit of Damage and Penetration for better Accuracy, a higher Rate of Fire and most importantly, the ability to slap a suppressor on its muzzle. Now using an LMG for stealth purposes isn’t recommended, but if your heart yearns for a quiet, but never-ending stream of bullets, then look no further. Take caution, however. This weapon is an angry bull, swaying violently left and right while you hold down the trigger.
An LMG with higher-than-average Damage potential, but like a raging Goliath, is wholly uncontrollable. You’ll need parts to help raise the Accuracy and Handling to get this monster under control, but once it’s been tamed a little bit, you’ll have a death-dealing machine gun capable of taking on the fiercest of opponents.
One of the more stable LMGs on the market with quality Damage to boot. Make no mistake, this is still an LMG, so firing for long periods is going to force your gun to swing and climb wildly. But in bursts, this gun will actually take good care of you. If it had the option for a suppressor it’d be absolutely killer, but as a damage dealer, this gun has you covered.
A bulldozer of a weapon, this LMG boasts near the highest Damage in the whole light machine gun game; add a 175-bullet magazine and you’re ready to rip through just about anything. Like all good LMGs, this one is positively out of control when fired more than a single shot at a time, but go prone and you’ve got a bit more say in where this gun sways.
A powerful, but unruly LMG, El Baston boasts impressive Damage, but at the cost of stability. Point this at anything and it’ll be dust before it knows you were coming, assuming you can hit it of course. The muzzle climb is limited, but the swaying is ruthless. Even going prone won’t tame this wild stallion, so expect to wrestle with it whenever you go into battle. As a suppressive weapon, this gun will do you right. Just be ready to hit a whole lotta nothin’ in between downing enemies and you’ll be fine.
One of the most stable LMGs in your arsenal. You’re going to lose a decent chunk of Damage compared to a beast like El Baston, but keeping the gun steady is actually feasible with the Llamativo. Now, like all LMGs, being prone is a must to keep the gun stable, but once you’re on the ground you’ll find that muzzle climb and sway are just slightly above negligible. You’ll have very little issue zeroing in on a target and turning them into a remnant of the past. A very good, well-rounded weapon.
