Hidden Cocaine Cache

Objectives

  • Destroy hidden cocaine cache

LOCATIONS

  • Cocaine Hideout (Hidden)

REWARDS

  • + 500 XP

Brief

We have intel on three large cocaine shipments that are being stockpiled in Mojocoyo prior to being shipped to Remanzo for packaging. Locate these drug caches and destroy them.

Tunnel Vision

This final stock of cocaine is perhaps the most difficult to find, as it’s hidden beneath the mountain side on the western foothill slopes of this province. With only one entrance in and out, a slightly different set of tactics is required when dealing with this predominance of snipers, so you aren’t executed well before you reach the cave entrance that leads to the cocaine.

Cocaine Hideout (Hidden: Southwest): Recon

TACMAP

Due west of Rancho Sabala town, but east of the west Outpost, is a hillside dotted with large boulders and scree slopes. Close to the electrical pylon cutting across the hillside is a hidden cocaine depot, with a stash hidden about 60 meters underground, into the hillside. The surface area around the place is dotted with five snipers, and two armored foes guard the tunnel entrance, along with around three thugs inside the tunnel, and a lieutenant who isn’t relevant to this mission (interrogate him if you wish). The success of this mission is very much about competent recon before moving in.

Southwest Plateau Rocks

Carefully approach the base from this direction, directly above the tunnel (but don’t look around for the cocaine cache on the surface!). Recon the five snipers looking out across the valley; they’re usually facing in the opposite direction to you. This makes them easy kills. Neutralizing these problems early means you only have the foes at the tunnel entrance to worry about. Then, move to either B or C and start the assault using the height advantage.

Northwest Rock Outcrops

There are some large boulders you can easily hide behind, and start a sniping competition with the enemy sharpshooters surrounding the rocky tunnel entrance. Two snipers are close to this infiltration area; look for evidence of human activity (barrels, movement in thermal vision) and tackle these foes first.

Using this side of the mountain above the hidden tunnel over A or C allows you to more easily reach and descend some outer wooden steps, down to the entrance. There’s a sandbag defensive area close to D, and a forklift down to the entrance itself. Watch for sicarios with miniguns as you reach the tunnel.

Northeast Entrance

Just like A and B, approach using the hiking trail and then head to the rocks above the entrance, so you’re above and behind all the enemy snipers. Then take them out from the vantage point here. Afterward, you can descend down the rocks to the tunnel entrance, or remain above, lobbing in explosives to weaken those foes at ground level.

Southeast Rock Outcrops

The “road” here is more of a dirt trail, and it’s off the road leading south from the Gas Station Via-B, northeast of the mission area. You’re driving uphill slightly, can’t easily see all five snipers, and the tunnel entrance enemies (both the heavy-weapon foes) can easily rake you or your vehicle. If you must head in from this direction, make it in a fast-moving vehicle you can use as cover, before looping west and east to move around and outflank the snipers on the hill, or you’re likely to be killed.

Target: Tunnel (Cocaine Stash)

The cartel members in this 60-meter deep tunnel have signed their own metaphorical death warrants, as there’s no way out for them. The biggest problems are the two armored foes with miniguns at the entrance. Tag them from the upper rocks (B or C) instead of standing toe-to-toe with them, or use the scenery to hide behind, step out, and gun them down.

The tunnel itself contains around three foes. It bends to the left a little, so stay on the left wall for additional cover. With no way out, you can take your time, lobbing in smoke and flashbang grenades, regular grenades, and basically anything else you like to discombobulate the foes, making them easy pickings. It is them simply a matter of destroying the cocaine stash before you leave.

Cocaine Hideout (Hidden: Southwest): Other Tactical Advice

Take this one slow and steady, using the cover of night to help your progress. Stealthily creep in from A, tagging each sniper one at a time, aiming at those nearest you first, so you don’t attract attention (by having a sniper near D fall first, with others seeing the death and raising the alarm). Move around to B, and after learning the location of both armored foes, execute them from cover. Then storm the tunnel and complete the mission.

If you don’t feel like wandering all the way to the end of the tunnel, use a grenade launcher or a drone carrying explosives to destroy the stock piles.

The same plan is optimal with human teammates, though approaching from A, B, and C allows a more easy culling of the snipers without the rest of the foes being any the wiser. Optionally have a fourth Ghost acting as back up in a vehicle or helicopter for extraction purposes.
