Brief

El Comandante’s Santa Blanca prisoner is being moved via convoy to a new location. Intercept the convoy, rescue the prisoner, and give him a message to take back to the cartel.

Prisoner Swap

A cartel prisoner is being moved along the main road that loops around the west and northern parts of the province. Your plan of attack is similar to those of convoy strikes you’ve done previously, albeit with a bit of forethought. The prisoner needs to be rescued (not killed), bundled into a vehicle, and taken to a neutral location (the village of Acevedo), where you interrogate him and give him the message to take back to his men. El Comandante’s days are numbered.

TACMAP

One armored SUV drives in front of an armored truck. Take too long engaging them, and (as always) Unidad will send reinforcements of increasing severity until this mission fails. So make your first interaction count. The lead vehicle has three foes, as does the prisoner vehicle. Both have miniguns.

Prisoner Convoy: Tactical Advice

Set up an ambush, away from any Unidad or cartel base or enemies, ideally with a couple of vehicles parked across the road. Train your weapon on the driver of the prison vehicle, and tag him from range. Repeat with the minigun operator atop the prison vehicle. You can throw C4 or a mine on the lead vehicle as it slows down or passes if you wish, but the main plan is to get into the prison vehicle and drive it away. Or, if the vehicle isn’t in good condition, grab the prisoner from the vehicle and stow him in your own armored carrier.

Or, if you have a strong enough vehicle, use it to ram the prison vehicle off the road, fishtailing it so it stops, ideally jamming it into some scenery so you (or a teammate) can quickly neutralize the driver and minigun operator.

You may wish to ambush the convoy close to the village of Acevedo so you have fewer kilometers to travel.

Head to Acevedo, parking near the indicated fountain, remove the prisoner from the vehicle, and quickly interrogate him. Don’t park too close to the cluster of cartel nearby, or you’ll start an unnecessary firefight. After the prisoner agrees to your demands, release him, and immediately leave the village and the mission area to complete the mission. Take care not to run the prisoner over in your haste to leave.
