As you might expect from world-renowned workout instructors, Wii Fit Trainers (both female and male variants) are quick and powerful fighters with lots of athletic tricks hidden up their sleeves. (Well, there are no sleeves. It’s a figure of speech.)
For one, these lithe fighters have a version of crouch-walking by holding down-back or down-forward on the control stick. Lying prone, Wii Fit Trainer hops forward or backward with little push-ups! Wii Fit Trainers can also capably wall-jump, increasing recovery ability.
Unusual among combatants, most of Wii Fit Trainer’s poking attacks cover both sides, including the standard neutral attack jab. Neutral attack, side and up tilt, all smash attacks, and the Super Hoop up special all hit both to the front and back.
Trainers have multiple projectile threats to mix in with their quick, wide strikes. Header provides both a projectile threat along any vector you can think of, depending on where you bounce the soccer ball, and another melee option should you decide to get up close and personal with the headbutt portion. And Sun Salutation grants a Samus-like super projectile to store and save for a rainy day, firing it straight across a stage when a prime opportunity presents itself.
