Bowser is a dense, hulking menace, the heaviest fighter in the game. His heavy weight reinforces his attack power and makes him harder to punt huge distances offstage, so he’s harder to outright KO. On the other hand, his weight also means he’s easier to juggle repeatedly in combos, since he won’t be knocked as far away with launchers, keeping him in a hittable position.
His weight influences his attacks, which are mostly slow but extremely powerful. Side smash, down air attack, and down special in particular are devastating to enemies even if blocked, likely shattering shields, but they’re very sluggish to land.
Conditioning challengers to be more susceptible to Bowser’s plodding, brutal attacks requires leaning heavily on his neutral attack one-two punch combo, down tilt (also a two-hit combo unto itself), up tilt (a great all-purpose swat), forward air, and his up special at close range, Whirling Fortress. These are his safest options, so making them your foundation will open the door to being able to take buffer home-run swings.
