Hit-Confirm

A sequence of attacks you perform only up to a point, verifying that hits are successful before completing the sequence. Some hit-confirm starters include repeated down tilts from fighters like Ken, Ryu, Luigi, and Ness, and the side tilt follow-through options of Bayonetta and Snake. The neutral attack combo of almost every fighter works this way too. Generally, in any lengthy sequence of attacks, you want to cut the whole thing short as soon as possible if you realize the opponent is blocking or dodging successfully. This allows you to start up a secondary attack or bait out and punish a counterattack attempt.
