Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Guide › King K. Rool

Overview

The lumbering lord of the Kremlings relies on his raw strength, prodigious gut, and skill with self-made gizmos. He has many attacks that deal high damage, and he’s not as slow as you might expect, with his neutral attack and up tilt hitting fairly quickly. His belly absorbs impacts during many attacks, which helps him endure attacks and strike back even with slower moves. It’s functionally like having partial super armor on many moves. The belly itself becomes a weapon for moves like neutral air attack. Even side taunt has belly armor, offering the most insulting method for dismissing incoming projectiles.

Aside from his belly, the king is distinguished by his tools. Blunderbuss and Crownerang give him ranged threats he can overlap, dealing meaningful damage from far away. Both of them supplement his offense up close, with Blunderbuss offering cannonball-ricochet or opponent-launching follow-ups. Meanwhile, the Propellerpack storing all his stuff is ready at a moment’s notice to whirl him up away from danger.
