Footstool Jump

A special type of jump any fighter can execute when flush against an opponent in midair. It works on grounded or airborne enemies, acting like a wall jump—just off an enemy’s face! If used against grounded opponents, a footstool jump provides some loft while momentarily making them flinch. Their penalty for getting footstooled isn’t significant while standing. In midair, though, a footstool victim is sent falling straight down quickly. Offstage, footstooling someone air-to-air is basically a different kind of meteor smash, sending them plunging rapidly toward the lower blast zone. Midstage, air-to-air footstool jumps can be used to knock someone straight down into the ground, setting up a sudden tech situation they might be unprepared for. This has some niche use in juggle combos when you know they’ll be close enough for you to jump and immediately footstool off of.
