The princesses of the Mushroom Kingdom and Sarasaland don’t need rescuing in this brawl. These nimble pixies can take care of themselves. Peach and Daisy are functionally the same, but differ in the colorful symbols they make appear during several moves (Peach emits hearts, while it’s all daisies around Daisy).
Whichever ruler you select, she comes equipped with strong air pokes, unique specials like the Toad counter and the Vegetable pull, and an unsurpassed floating ability. Once during each airborne state, Peach and Daisy can totally halt vertical momentum and float in place, able to glide left and right. While floating, normal actions are possible. To float automatically at the apex of a jump, hold down the Jump button or hold up on the control stick. (This works whether jumping to normal altitude, or short-hopping from the ground with a Jump button tap or with Attack+Jump together). To choose a different float height, either hold up or the Jump button after having used up her jump and double jump, or tap down on the stick while starting to hold Jump (this stops you from blowing a double jump early, saving it for after floating ends). This even works while standing on solid ground, resulting in a one-inch-high float, great for aggressive and unique ground movement.
You can only float once per airborne period, but you can use the gliding portion of Peach/Daisy Parasol too. Getting hit out of the air doesn’t reset the ability to float or double-jump, but it allows you to use another upward-lunging, downward-gliding parasol special move.
Mastery of Peach and Daisy’s agile and extremely variable movement, along with their myriad options incorporating Vegetables into their already strong brawling game, is the key to dominating the competition as the fairest royals in two kingdoms.
