All smash attacks can be charged, and lots of specials too. Usually you can expect charging to increase damage and knockback, at the cost of the time required to charge up. (A handful of moves charge for some other purpose, like Snake’s up smash.) A few fighters—like Donkey Kong, Samus, and Wii Fit Trainer—have neutral specials that take time to charge up one powerful attack. Usually this special charge period can be interrupted, breaking up the charging into chunks.
