The Imperial Japanese Navy conquered the coral atoll of Wake Island in 1941. The island remained in Japanese control until the end of the war in 1945.
Now, 70 years later, the US Marines have returned to this small island in an attempt to secure the airfield, now occupied by Russian forces.
With air, ground, and sea units prepared for deployment, this small horseshoe-shaped island is once again the site of an intense battle between two superpowers.
Once again, the Airfield is the site of an intense infantry battle as two squads fight for dominance in this compact Rush battle.
Although the action is restricted to a small portion of the island, the Airfield is very large, especially for an eight-player match.
So instead of rushing directly for the objective, the attacking squad should attempt flanking maneuvers to catch the defenders off guard.
Sniping opportunities are also available for players positioned on the west side of the runway. But securing the areas around the objectives requires CQB expertise, emphasizing quick reflexes over thoughtful strategy.
