Prep: Battle with Fire Artes From Afar
This boss will fall down immediately if you attack it with weakness-exploiting combos. However, when it falls down, it uses a Poison-emitting attack, making the combos impossible to continue. Flee back to a safe distance and attack it with Fire-type artes. Play as Milla, and bring Muzét and Elize along for support. Elize’s Dispel arte will protect against status ailments, allowing you to fight without fear of Poison.
Tactics: Attack Its Weak Point with Lightning from Mid-air*

This boss’s tentacle/feeler things are its weak points. It holds them high up, where they’re hard to hit, but not too high for Milla’s Lightning attack (highest level). Use this arte in mid-air to hit its weak points. The boss will fall down, and you can then use Fire artes against it. When the boss rises again, once again fire off a mid-air Lightning attack (at its highest level). If the boss gets too close, use Muzét’s Support Warp to zip away. Elize should be on poison-control duties, which means keeping her in a perpetual Teepo ON state and regularly casting Dispel. Ludger will get poisoned if he approaches the boss, so set his Action Strategy to Protect Yourself. He should only go on offense when his chromatus gauge is full enough to transform.
Attacks to Watch Out For
Spin Thrust: A charging attack that sweeps in nearby targets. You can avoid it by getting far enough away, so start back-stepping away when you see him rear back.
Poison Spew: The boss emits a cloud of poison whenever it’s attacked while down. The cloud inflicts both damage and poison, so retreat as soon as it falls.

The basic strategy of having Milla cast Lightning (highest level) at the tentacles from mid-air should remain unchanged. Continue to use Fire artes regularly—if you’re able to inflict the Burn status, it can take off as much as 20% of the boss’s max HP! Since Ludger was never much help in this fight, replace him with Rowen and have him focus on casting Shimmering Toll. Set the Action Strategy for Muzét and Rowen to Spirit Artes Only.
