Stop the Train

Whoever caused all the commotion at the station is aboard the train and attacks immediately. The battle only has one enemy and is a walk in the park.

Your new buddy Jude is aboard the train as well as the CEO of Spirius Corporation (the company whose entrance exam you failed to pass). This is your chance to greatly boost your affinity with the big boss if you play nice.

Jude joins your party. You need his assistance to stop the train you’re riding, which has been sabotaged by a terrorist group named Exodus. There are several items to search for on the locomotive, and this is your only chance to collect them. The Trenchcoat and Life Bottle will provide life-saving armor and a potion to revive a fallen friend.

Make your way through the train while passing several spots where infiltrators will launch an ambush. Use the free run ability to surround enemies and make sure Jude is linked with you and set to “Act Together”. Jude will not only protect you from getting hit from behind, he will also handle all of the healing.

When you finally reach the front car, go up the stairs to find Julius. Your brother took care of most of the Exodus extremists, but one enemy gets through. You must decide who you want to protect.

Julius pulls out two pocket watches, but in the scuffle Elle reclaims her watch. Ludger attempts to pull Elle to safety, but when he touches her something strange happens and the group is teleported to another dimension.

Everything looks darker in this “world” and although the layout of the train is the same, there are different items to collect in this dimension. The same three types of enemies are in this dimension. Working with Jude, it should not be a problem to deal with them. Continue your trek through the train once again and go through the tutorials to learn about more-advanced forms of combat like linked Arte Chains and Over Limit. If you run low on health, use the vending machine to stock up on healing items before going to the first car.

Boss Julius

Guard continuously and only attack in the instant after you successfully block an enemy attack. When that happens, and a blue “!” appears over Julius’ head, he’ll be able to forge an iron stance and counterattack, even if you’re in the middle of attacking him! If you see the mark, immediately cease attacking and start guarding.

Since Julius is weak to slashing attacks, use Ludger’s dual blade attacks. If you follow his regular attacks with Azure Edge or attacks from Jude, you can perform a weakness-exploiting combo for heavy damage.

When you see the red “!”, it means Julius will perform a Time Disintegration arte. You better block this attack or expect to take several hits in a row!

Julius is down, but it is up to you if you want to finish the job. Either way you will destroy the item holding you in this world and warp back to your dimension.
