Ludger’s Properties Change With His Weapon
Having access to such a wide variety of artes makes Ludger ideal for weakness-exploiting combos.
Ludger can use three different weapons—dual blades, dual pistols, and sledgehammer—and his repertoire of artes changes along with his weapon. By switching between them, Ludger has access to artes of every damage and elemental type, so it’s always advantageous to match your weapon to the foe you’re facing. Ludger also gains access to a Chromatus as the game progresses.

Switch Weapons to Match Your Foe’s Weakness
Each weapon has its own combat style: the dual blades are best against incoming foes, the sledgehammer hits a wide area of the battlefield, and the dual pistols allow you to fight from afar. Beyond that, the dual blades deal slash damage, the sledgehammer deals strike damage, and the dual pistols deal shot damage. Check each enemy’s damage-type weakness as soon as the battle begins so you can pick the ideal weapon with which to face it.
