To accept a quest, visit the Job Bulletin board in any town. These optional quests appear during the Intervals and are covered in their own section later in the guide. The color of the job indicates if it is finite (red) or random (white). The red quests have fixed objectives and items, and generally include all Event Quests. These are typically added during each Chapter, but some are added when you trigger something in the game. These quests usually won’t disappear once they’re added to the list, but a few may become uncompletable if characters leave your party. The white quests are randomly generated, and change in nature every Chapter. New quests replace old ones every 30 minutes. There are always eight to choose from, and when one is completed, a new one appears.
You can take on five jobs at a time, but some require a certain level of proficiency, presented as a job title. Job titles are awarded as various badges when you reach the goals for that level. To increase your title or badge level, you must complete jobs to earn points. It will become obvious throughout the game that many of the optional random missions will be required to help earn higher titles to eventually take on the red-specific tasks. These Side Quests are a great way to earn gald, experience, and rare items in one shot!

Types of Quests
There are four general types of quests:
1) Event Quest: These feature new event scenes. Most involve finding an item and bringing it to a certain character somewhere in the world. Then you receive an item that you can use to report the quest’s completion. A green ! appears on your map at the site of Event Quests. Several of these are only available for a specific time frame, so make sure to look out for ones with a red label. You can find out all the details about them in the Walkthrough Tips section before the Walkthrough starts.
2) Monster Hunting Quest: Kill a certain amount of a certain monster. Monsters killed before the quest is accepted do not count. If you quit the quest and start it over later, you’ll have to start over from zero.
3) Item Delivery Quest: Report back with the designated number of a certain item in your inventory and you’ll complete the quest, even if you already had the items in your inventory. These quests include cat quests, but you’re free to find the cats before you accept the quest (the quest does not generate the cats) for a very easy completion.
4) Elite Monster Quest: A quest to kill an Elite Monster. These quests offer exceptionally good rewards and are the best way to boost your points to earn new job titles.
