Character Episodes

Each main character has his or her own story (except for Ludger) that are separated into chapters we call Episodes (not to be confused with the Main Story’s Chapters). These appear during the Intervals and are short, structured missions that provide a lot of insight into each character. They also provide a big opportunity to boost affinity with each respective character. Most of these can be completed any time once they unlock, but it is always best to do them as soon as they appear. Some of the Episodes, such as Milla’s, have a limited window to complete them. Also, if you wait too long to complete an Episode, you might miss a Bonus Scene in the Main Story.

Episodes Properties

Talk to characters with a red ! in town to trigger.
There are four to six per character.
Boosts affinity, but the amounts vary drastically based on your answers in dialogue.
Can’t advance Main Story or begin a different Character Episode while in the midst of a Character Episode.
Clearing Character Episodes will unlock Bonus Scenes in the Main Story.

Character Episode Changes and Timing

The event scenes during a Character Episode will change based on when they’re triggered. For example, characters like Elle may or may not appear based on the part of the game, or Fractured Milla may be replaced by normal Milla.
Also, some Episodes can only be completed at certain Intervals. In short, always do the Character Episodes as soon as they appear in the Intervals so you don’t miss anything.
They trigger at the end of a specific Main Story Chapter.
If you miss it, it will re-trigger at the end of the next Chapter.
If you let them pile up, you can do them all at once; completing one will make the next one trigger immediately.
Milla Episodes 1 and 2 are the only ones you can miss by not seeing them early enough.
If you clear every Character Episode, you’ll trigger an extra Episode.

Bonus Scenes

One of the main advantages of completing the Character Episodes is to earn a Bonus Scene during the course of the Main Story. These often have a special dialogue choice that can boost character affinity.
