Prep: Raise Your Water Resistance
This boss primarily uses Water-type attacks, so the higher you can raise your Water resistance, the easier this fight will be. Use the Custom Order system to make Aqua Cape and Aquamarine. Also, this boss has very strong defenses. Make sure Alvin is in your party so you can Link with him to break through the boss’s guard.
Tactics: Fight From Afar or Behind
When the boss lowers his head and charges forward, block. If you were to attack it at this point, the boss would use a counterattack tackle that leaves the attacker stunned. The boss also uses some unblockable attacks, so you want to avoid fighting it head-on and at close range as much as possible. Ludger should use the sledgehammer’s Hammer Toss to attack the boss outside of its attack range. Use this arte as a diversion, and when the boss shows his back to you, get close and use regular attacks. Just be careful not to run out of TP.
Attacks to Watch Out For
Aqua Laser: Fires a blast of water forward. This attack can’t hit targets that are behind or to the side of the boss, so if you free run beside or behind it, it’ll have trouble hitting you. It also can’t hit distant targets.
Tentacle Rush: An attack that sends tentacles out of the ground to attack. They emerge at the feet of your characters, so this attack can hit you even from afar. If you see water spray emerge from the ground near you, block or get away.

As with the first battle, you should attack from afar. Form a Fire-focused party led by Muzét and/or Milla using Sunburst. Also, if you equip the Blue Cape, which can be made through a Custom Order or won at Poker, you can absorb Water-type damage, making this battle significantly easier. Equip it to a party member who will engage the boss at close range. However, even with a Blue Cape equipped, you’ll need to watch out for other attacks.
