Learning with the Allium Orb
Characters assign points to the elements in their Allium Orb to learn skills and artes related to that element. Set items called extractors and use elemental ore earned in combat or found on the field. Each extractor corresponds to specific elements and some can extract more than one element at a time. You can mix and match extractors among characters; it won’t affect the points already spent per character. Each element in the extractor has a multiplier from one to five, and you get the amount of elemental ore spent times that multiplier in points. Each element corresponds to a stat. For example, fire corresponds to Strength, and skills related to that stat will branch out from that part of the orb. Make sure to rotate your extractors frequently for balanced characters.
Skills Related to Each Element
| Element | Type of Main Skill |
|---|---|
| Light | Skills related to Intelligence, Vitality, HP |
| Earth | Skills related to Dexterity or blocking |
| Water | Skills related to Stamina and HP/TP recovery |
| Dark | Skills related to Psyche and TP |
| Wind | Skills related to Agility, movement, jumping |
| Fire | Skills related to Strength and attacking |
Strengthening Already Learned Artes
Whenever you learn an arte on the orb that you already know, its level will increase by 1, thus making it more effective by adding a new property, boosted damage, or reduced TP. An arte can be leveled up four times (it has no level if you’ve only learned it once, so the second time you learn it, it becomes level 1). If you want to level up a certain arte, focus your extractor on the element from which you learned it. Artes with a plus mark by their name have been strengthened.
Acquiring New Extractors
Extractors can be acquired from defeating certain bosses, as quest rewards, in treasure chests, from poker, and as Custom Order items from shops. Extractors available later in the game affect more elements and have higher multipliers, so make sure to upgrade to make the most of your battle time. Custom Order extractors have old extractors as ingredients, but are always strictly superior and a worthy upgrade!
