Make the Most of Leia’s Versatility
Begin each battle by boosting your stats with artes like Sharpness, and make sure Leia is linked with another character who can put the shared effect to good use. Then set Leia on your foes to dish out combo damage, and when the combo ends, replace the buff if it’s run its course.
Special—Maximize Your Elongating Staff Opportunities
Using Leia’s Elongating Staff ability makes combat easier by increasing your attack range. The Bonus Extension 2 allows you to trigger it off of a Flash Guard, offering more versatility in defensive tactics. But whichever method you use to activate it, timing is essential, as an unsuccessful attempt will typically result in Leia taking a needless hit. Use the triggering suggestions shown here to avoid taking unnecessary risks.
TP Restoration Guard triggers off Flash Guards as well, so when using Bonus Extension 2, activate that as well.
Triggering Elongating Staff with Bonus Extension 2
Provoke the Enemy Attack—Press 
as soon as you provoke an enemy attack. If you’re too slow, you’ll take a direct hit—try to be on the early side, so you’ll safely block the attack if you fail.
Back-Step Away Immediately—Right after pressing 
, back-step away. Not only will this provide a second chance to trigger Elongating Staff, but it will allow you to dodge the attack if you fail.
Special—Engineer Your Own Stealing Opportunities
Leia’s Item Steal partner skill will trigger even if you switch characters while the enemy is down. This means you can have Leia herself knock the foe down, quickly switch characters so that you’re controlling her former partner, and Leia will still have time to steal the item. Why rely on partners when you can have Leia use her own repertoire of knockdown-inflicting attacks to set up stealing opportunities?
Special—Triggering an Item Steal
After using a knockdown attack like Rabid Lunge or stage 2 of Leia’s 
+ 
normal attack, switch which character you’re controlling. If that puts you far away from the fallen enemy, move towards it to prevent Leia from running towards you.
