Oscore Fractured
Find the Plant’s Power Source
Most of the foes are susceptible to gunfire, and the biggest threat of the group is the Oscore Chief that can return fire. Many of the foes have long-range attacks that can shock the party or have a large area of effect. Always prioritize these projectile-based enemies with constant pressure to smother their attacks and pin them down before they wreak havoc on the entire party.
Before starting the area, stop by the Oscore Plant Store and fill up your item reserves. Open the door to the east and meet Alvin’s uncle.

After a little incident, search Alvin’s uncle for the Guest Keycard and Gilland’s Memo. Unfortunately the key card has expired and is of no immediate use, but that code on the memo will provide the access you need.
When you examine Gilland’s Memo it contains three series of four-digit numbers. The numbers are passwords that allow access to three separate Cultivation Rooms. Go into the hallway and enter the first password (8778) at the first door on the left to enter the Plantation 1 room.

R1: Tomato dishes are my speciality, you know. (Alvin, Elize, Rowen affinity +300) |
At the end of the hall, go through the door to the Security Room. Use the apparatus in the back to renew the Guest Keycard to provide access to several doors in the plant. Leave this room to go back into the hallway and enter the Central Dome using the door on the opposite side.
Grab a few items in the Central Dome, exit into the hallway, and go through the door straight ahead to reach the Regulation Room. Go to the terminal in the corner and change Cultivation Rooms 2 and 3 to standard environments through a polarization process. This will allow access to those Plantation Rooms now that they are normalized.
Head back into the hallway and enter the first door on the right. This door has a password lock like the first one and the code is simply the second set of four numbers from the memo (7654). Pick up the sole item in the Plantation 2 room, but be careful of the enemies in this narrow room that are close together and can trigger an Encounter Link. Exit into Block 2, Hallway 1 using the door on the far end of the room and take the large elevator to the next floor.
The third and final locked door leads to the Plantation 3 room and will require the final set of four digits from the memo (8708). Continue to battle enemies to get to Block 3, Hallway 2 to access the Power Control Room. This room has the Mainframe Computer System that is currently running in normal mode. Check the system and go into maintenance mode to lower the power core into the Central Dome. Backtrack to the Central Dome and prepare to fight the thing that is powering the entire plant!

Aska mainly fights with horizontal beam attacks and vertical pillars of light that erupt from the ground. If you stick close to Aska you’ll be able to dodge the beams, and when you see a ring of light on the ground before a pillar strike, you should start guarding. Continue sticking close to attack it, striking from beneath its feet with a dark-type gun to exploit its weakness. However, if Ludger has the Prometheus (Darkness) dual blades, he can use that to take advantage of the enemy’s vulnerability to Dark attacks.
Remember that you can transform at any time, and in that state the Dark Projection arte is a great way to land hits on foes who are flying around.
When Aska is reduced to half its HP, it uses Shining Veil a lot and its variety of attacks and artes increases. Shining Veil is a powerful laser with an area of effect that expands out to a wide space in front of the boss and deals heavy damage. However, you do have a brief amount of time before the attack is used to quick-step or transform.
The other attack to look out for is a long, straight-line lunge that knocks targets down. Aska uses this from the start of the fight, but after using Shining Veil, it uses that more often and also uses it to plummet down from mid-air. This attack is preceded by a beating of wings that generates dust. When you see that happen, stop attacking and immediately block.
The boss provides an invaluable tip about someone in a wasteland beyond Helioborg (Dimensional Breach). Once the boss is beaten, go into the World Map and warp to Trigleph Station. To follow up on the lead you were given, travel through Torbalan Highroad to reach Helioborg.
