Fueled by his extremely high Strength and Vitality, Gaius enjoys top-class Physical Attack and Physical Defense stats. With a large amount of HP to back them up, Gaius is perfectly suited for front-line combat. The main chink in his armor is his low Artes Defense stat; equipping hats for his headgear is one way to shore up that weakness.

Partner Skill: Chivalry

Blocks for Partner and Triggers Effects

When Gaius steps in to block an enemy attack for his partner, Gaius and his partner gain three special effects: the first hit of their next attack strikes as if hitting an enemy weakness, the first hit of their next attack can break Iron Stances to stagger a foe (this won’t apply to spirit artes), and a 25% TP cost reduction will be applied throughout the combo that begins with their next attack. These effects provide an opportunity to deliver a stunningly powerful counterattack, so when you’re linked with Gaius, it may be a good idea not to guard at all!

Chivalry Properties

When Gaius blocks an enemy attack to protect his partner, both he and his partner gain the following effects:

25% TP cost reduction for their next attack and ensuing combo.
Their next attack hits as if exploiting an enemy weakness.
Their next attack can break an enemy’s Iron Stance and stagger him. (Does not apply to spirit artes.)
When the Support Shift skill is active, Gaius and his partner get only the TP cost-reduction benefit, but their actions do not consume AC for 5 seconds.

Take advantage of the TP cost reduction to strike with your deadliest artes.
