Confront the Catalyst

Once again, trek up the mountainside of Nia Khera Hallowmont to get to the peak. Remember that the enemies in this area are all weak to light artes. Still, try to avoid them as much as possible and save your resources for the boss at the top.

You begin this battle with a full chromatus gauge. Use it to deal heavy damage. Once it refills, it can be used when Muzét goes into Over Limit when the red “!” appears over her head. During Over Limit, if she connects with Gravity Well, there’s a chance she’ll chain it into her Event Horizon mystic arte and deal heavy damage to the entire party, so evade it with free run or transform to cancel it.

Muzét attacks with her hair and magical artes. Keep your distance, striking when she uses an arte other than Flame Ring. When you deal heavy damage or use a weakness-exploiting combo, she’ll teleport away—but don’t follow her carelessly. Keep your guard up and wait patiently for another opening.

However, if you’re linked with Milla, she will be able to bind Muzét, and you’ll sometimes be able to attack without her teleporting away. Also, make sure to exploit Muzét’s weakness to light attacks and, when she is weak, use a Linked Arte.

After losing about half her HP, Muzét will go into Over Limit mode and begin using different artes like Stun Blitz and Force Mine. Stun Blitz comes out quickly, making it hard to dodge and possibly causing the Stun ailment. Protect yourself with Stun Bracelet accessories. Force Mine generates four mines that cause dark earthquakes when touched. If you run around, there’s a chance your linked partner will run into one, so sever your links and get away until the mines disappear or stay close to Muzét and guard her attacks. If she uses Force Mine or Gravity Well, don’t go running around the battlefield; hold your ground using guard and Magic Guard, and wait for another chance to attack.

Do something?

L1: Save Milla (Milla affinity +250)

R1: Kill Muzét

Tell me what’s going on!

L1: I destroyed your world.

R1:(I don’t know how to tell her...)

After the battle, use the World Map to go to Nia Khera Spiritway and immediately exit to Nia Khera for a very uncomfortable reunion with the rest of your party as well as Ivar and Rideaux. The next decision is very important, not only to get a huge boost of affinity with Julius, but also to determine who the next boss battle will be with.

What’ll you do?

L1: Follow Rideaux’s orders and defeat Julius. (Next boss is Julius)

R1: Trust Julius. (Julius affinity +500 and next boss is Rideaux)

The boss circles behind or beside you and attacks with rapid combos of his dual blades or the same artes as Ludger.

Like the alternate-dimension version of him that you fought on the Stribog, Julius will enter counterattack mode after taking three to six hits, and use kicks to break through your guard. Use artes like Azure Edge or Lunar Reflection to launch weakness-exploiting combos he can’t counterattack.

You can defeat him even more quickly if you link with Alvin to break through his guard. However, when Julius enters Over Limit, focus on running away until it’s over.

BOSS RIDEAUX

Level

24–28

Iron Stance

HP

Drop

Treat (100%) / Holy Symbol (100%)

Steal

Crude Stinger (10%)

Rideaux is weak to both light and dark, so either of the Prometheus dual blades can take advantage of his weakness. If you don’t have the light or dark version of those blades, you can also fight from afar with guns using Zero Divide and Elize’s Dark Gaze artes. Keep in mind Rideaux’s claw-stretch attacks have a very long reach and can hit you even at gun range.

Rideaux’s slashing-damage claw attacks can inflict Bleeding, cutting through your HP very quickly. If he enters a counterattack stance during close combat, quick-step away until you’re out of range. If you are fighting him up close, look for his Spartan Relay spinning claw attack or his area effect ground maneuver Dark Punishment.

When Rideaux is reduced to half his HP he’ll begin using the damaging wide-area attack Dancing Bayonet. If you hit him before he can use it, you can cancel it. But if he’s in Over Limit mode, just keep your distance or transform.
