Prep: Create a Party That Excels at Physical Attacks
This boss has resistance to all damage types except for slash, strike, and shot. In other words, it’s only weak to physical damage, so form a party of Alvin, Gaius, and Jude. Make sure that no one is wielding weapons with elemental types, and that they’ve been set to not use their artes.
Tactics: Shoot Its Wings From Afar
This boss’s weak point is its wings, and shooting them both staggers the boss and sets up its special knockdown. Fight from afar, but circle around to the boss’s side and fire at it with regular attacks. Once the boss is staggered and your allies are piling on, move in closer and begin using weakness-exploiting attack combos. However, when you see the red ! appear and the boss flies up high, it will be weak only to gun damage, so continuously pepper it with regular gun attacks.
Knockdown: Shoot It with Guns While in Flight
After the red ! appears above it, the boss will fly to a higher altitude than usual. While in flight it will only move and not attack. Continuously hit it with gunshots for the knockdown.
Attacks to Watch Out For
Absorption: This attack paralyzes its target. It can only hit you if you are in front of the boss, so circle behind or beside the boss.
Whirlwind Attack: This attack unleashes a large whirlwind in front of the boss. Its range is long and wide, so take drastic evasive action.

The boss’s Iron Stance is stronger, so you’ll want to attack its wings to stagger it. As before, circle to its side to target them. Watch out for the multi-hit Absorption Needle attack of the Veywind Child enemies it summons! Use the dual pistols’ Requiem arte to catch the Veywind Child in the crossfire as you attack. Physical-type Linked Artes like Twin Lance are effective here.
