In Marksburg—Rieze Harbor, chat with the Spirius agent in a black suit next to the inn. When the Waymarkers are placed, a path to Canaan will present itself, but you must get past Chronos first.

Focus on Chronos While Protecting Your Party From Ailments

This boss’s deadliest attack is the potentially petrification-inflicting Tetra Spell. If you become petrified, you’ll take heavy damage from Chronos Laser, so heal yourself with Panacea Bottles as you battle.

Chronos has no weakness, so use Power Charge 2 to give him one when you attack. Ignore the two Chronos Bits that accompany Chronos, as no amount of attacking will destroy them. Also, use the Spread Out tactic so that your allies will keep the bits occupied. This battle ends when Chronos is reduced to half his HP.

Boss Chronos

Transform When Chronos Uses Time Compression

At the beginning of this stage of the fight, the boss summons the Chronos Bits. Unlike the previous fight, you need to destroy them first before concentrating on Chronos.

Cage of Torment generates pillars of light in front of the boss that remain on the battlefield for a long time. If you touch them, you’ll be immobilized, so side-step away and find a different route to reach him. Also, this boss has knock-back attacks too. Approach it gradually with quick-steps and while blocking.

When Chronos’s HP is reduced to half of its max, he’ll attempt to use Time Compression to rewind time to just before the battle when his HP was cut in half. This move gives you a big opening; use it to restore HP and TP until just before the screen turns white. After that, make sure to transform to cancel the attack.

Bisley promises to look after Elle, so make the long trek back to Spirius Corporation.

Prepare Gear for Jude, Milla, Gaius, and Muzét

In the next chapter, Ludger will be joined by Gaius, Muzét, and either Jude or Milla. Which character you get depends on a choice you make in the quest, but if you wait to see how the story unfolds it will be too late to purchase equipment for the character who joins you. Make your choice now, and buy them the gear that they’ll need. Note that after that, Ludger will have to fight a boss by himself, so make sure to buy a sufficient quantity of recovery items for that fight. Also, the boss in the first part of the chapter is weak to Wind, so bring weapons like Prometheus (Wind) or Shinatsuhiko.

Acquire the Artes Tomes Ultra Awakening and Super Heal

During this interval, two variants of a quest called The Law of the Gentleman will appear. Clearing these quests will earn you artes tomes with the skills Mind Reversal and Life Reversal. These skills refill HP and TP based on the amount of damage you take, and are particularly useful against bosses who deal large amounts of damage. You’ll face a lot of those types of bosses from here on out, so make sure to get them both. Both quests are simple ones that only require you to kill one enemy, but you need to have earned your Gold Token badge before you can accept them. If you don’t meet that condition yet, increase your rank by pursuing other quests and battling Elite Monsters.

The Gentlemundine you face in the Kukhar Ice Caverns has a weak point on his head, so use jumping attacks to strike it and stagger him. The Gentlefreet in the Nala Lava Tubes uses lots of Fire artes so boost your Fire resistance before the fight.
