Regardless of your previous choice, you will appear at Spirius Corp. Speak to Vera in the lobby and Nova will ask about Julius. Take the elevator to the 40th floor to check in with Bisley Bakur.

Enter the CEO’s office to trigger several important decision-making scenes with Bisley.

Go to your apartment building and take the elevator to your place on the third floor. Share a meal with some friends, but Elle will run off.

Leave the apartment to search for Elle and she will quickly be spotted on the swing set right in front of your place. This is a great time to bond with Elle and raise her affinity.

Set Sail to a New Region

At the end of Chapter 7, Nova calls to give you the good news that you are free to travel to Sapstrath Seahaven. Set sail for the new locale and check for new weapons and armor for the entire party—especially for the newest member, Milla. Search for hidden items and locate the local cat Tart snoozing on a barrel. Rest at the inn if you like and, once you are well equipped, prepare to explore several new areas, starting with Sapstrath Highroad.

Grab Gald and Take on the Boars

Check all the treasure chests to collect some great items as well as nearly 10000 gald. The tough beast of the area is the Boar that has nearly double the HP of its fellow residents. These aggressive wild pigs will charge and trample you if given a chance, and they should be your top target in groups of mixed enemies. The big beasts are weak to attacks from the sledgehammer and strike damage, making Jude and Leia excellent partners when hunting Boar.

Most of the other enemies are weak to slash-type damage, making Milla great on the battlefield. The speed of your blades should stop the other foes before they have a chance to put up any real offence. It’s not worth switching to your gun for the Bees. Simply use wind artes with your blades and you can still take advantage of their weakness.

When exploring the North Branch, look out for a small cave on the northern wall to find Meowcifer and its Item Quest collar.

This is one of the toughest areas to navigate in the game (except for the last level). What makes this Deepwood so challenging is the multiple levels of elevation with lots of ledges, small platforms, and large roots to crawl under.

The Sylvan Wolves are the only foes vulnerable to gunfire and can be dealt with from long range. While Basilisks are weak to slash attacks, they also have a tendency to poison their foes. As you might guess, the Sylvan Treants are the sturdiest foes with a deadly Wafting Decay arte. Switch to your sledgehammer to smash the tree before it does any serious damage.

There are also Smokeshrooms throughout this area that cause damage when trampled. Many of them are impossible to avoid, but fortunately they won’t harm you too badly.

From the start of the area, follow the path to the south and curve west without changing elevation. In the North Region are a couple of herb Peddlers (available later in the game) next to Moon the cat, who is hiding in a outgrowth of glowing plants.

Deep in the South Region on a small ledge is Chi-Chi the cat and its Item Quest collar.

The Model Windmill and Everbloom quest items can be found when searching the Town. Before going to the next areas, like Culmar Trail and Bermia Gorge, restock your Panacea Bottles... you’ll probably need them. Sharilton is a great central location to do some monster hunting quests to rack up some gald for new items or to pay back your debt.

Stop by the local inn off of the Central Plaza and and find Nonya in the back left corner of the inn.

The other cat in this town is perched on a chair in Lord’s Manor Parlor on the first floor. Pick up Yuni to add the cat to your collection as well as earn its valuable Item Quest collar.

The entire area is very narrow and it will be hard to avoid encounters, especially from the quick Floral Cats. Take your time and “run” at a regular pace, as dashing can lead to a Back-Attack Encounter. Also, if you try to avoid enemies too much, they can group together and force you to fight them in an Encounter Link.

Dual pistols are your best bet against enemies in this area. They are especially effective at pinning down the Dusk Shades before they can use their artes. However, the Culmar Beast Warriors are resistant to all three types of physical attacks and should be left to Rowen and Elize, who can use their magic artes to deal with them. The Culmar Beast Mage can drop valuable Silver Ore and should be hunted if you want to stock up. Link up with Milla in this area to bind many of the foes, leaving them vulnerable to attack.

This kitty is tough to find thanks to the overgrown foliage covering the hole to its private location. Lil Scrappy and its Item Quest collar are in a safe alcove just waiting to be found.

The final cat in this area is in the southeast corner under the shade of a tree. Pick up Michael and have him join your cat army.

It is fairly difficult to find all the treasures in this area thanks to the small platforms that often require you to jump down below in a leap of faith. In addition, the height of this area provides lots of levels of elevation that can only be reached by choosing the correct way to climb up. Take your time in this gorge and keep the maps handy when you explore. If a treasure seems like it should be right at your feet, look at the edge of the platform you are on and check to make sure it is actually not underneath you.

The monsters in this gorge are all weak to earth attacks. The sledgehammer can take advantage of that with the Power Swing arte, or you can use dual pistols with the Crossfire arte. On the other hand, all the foes are resistant to wind, so check your current artes to exclude that type of attack for your party. The Gentlesylph has very long reach and covers ground quickly. It uses lots of artes like Woosh! Here It Goes! and Cartwheel Combo, plus it can even cause paralysis—hope you have a Panacea Bottle ready! Link with Milla to try to bind this troublesome foe or stay back and fire away with Crossfire attacks. The rest of the enemies should not be a problem, but attack the Wind Djinn as soon as possible to prevent it from casting its Wind Lance arte.

A playful cat is swatting the grass on a high platform in the Northwest Region. Climb the ivy on the wall to reach this plateau and retrieve Taka and its Item Quest collar.

Pay particular attention to the Terra Treants and Skeletons in this area. They have some damaging moves that can pop up from below, and some might be unblockable. Use the sledgehammer to crush these enemies, but try to side step around them instead of fighting them head on.

In the center of the West Region is a suspicious-looking mesa. Climb up the vines at this spot to find Natalina the cat and its precious Item Quest collar.

There is not a lot you can do at Fort Gandala until after you have cleared Chapter 11. At this point you can look around the East Gate, but the door to the Central Passage is closed while the facility is undergoing renovations. It is easy to forget about this place because you visit it early in the game, but if you don’t return later you will never locate Lazy the cat on the lower level.
