Running and climbing are great for getting around the immediate environment, but sometimes you need to travel long distances. This is where mounts and vehicles come in. You can use camels, horses, chariots, carts, and feluccas to traverse the world.
You can purchase a variety of camels, horses, and chariots (if you have the Chariot Owner ability) from the stables—though they can also be swiped. With the Hijack ability, simply approach an NPC riding a mount or vehicle and hold the Loot button to take it. You can also find mounts parked at various locations, such as stables and docks. They are free for the taking, but you may end up with an owner in pursuit. Horses, camels, and chariots that you own appear on the Gear screen. Select which one you wish to respond to your call and then hold down on the D-pad out in the world.
Press the Loot button to mount, and use the left stick to explore the overworld. The Dodge button slows the vehicle down. Holding the Grab Ledge button dismounts. Note that controlling a racing chariot at the hippodrome is completely different than driving out in the world. Refer to the Activities section for more details on the hippodrome.
Hold down the Parkour Interaction button to automatically follow the road. This works only when you are near a road and can’t control where it goes. This allows you to sit back and enjoy the ride, though be careful you don’t end up in a restricted area. Hold down the same button to cancel a follow command.
Cart Usage
You can use hay carts as a vehicle, but they also have other uses. Hop onto the back to hide in the hay and let the driver take you into restricted areas. You can also set the hay on fire—a great distraction when attempting to sneak past guards.
Feluccas
A felucca is the ideal method for accessing ships or locations in the middle of a waterway. Feluccas do not require the Hijack ability, as Bayek can ask anyone to give up their boat by climbing on board and pressing the Loot button. Hold down the Heavy Attack button and the felucca will slowly build speed as the wind pushes it through the water. If you wish to take a ride on someone’s felucca, hold the Loot button next to the mast and then sit back and relax.
