Assassin's Creed Origins Guide › Side Quests › Faiyum Side Quests

Fires of Dionysias

Prerequisite: Meet Hotephres during Main Quest: The Crocodile’s Scales

Suggested Level: 37

REWARDS: 4,500 XP, Rare Shield

Speak to the Farmers of Dionysias

Talk to the young, tough woman named Zahra (1) in the ashes of her farm in Faiyum. She wants your help.

Follow Zahra

Mount the nearby horse and follow Zahra west out of her farm and into Dionysias. You stop at a farm villa (2) where bandits have invaded and are holding the landowner in captivity.

Find and Rescue the Greek Landowner

Zahra insists on fighting by your side. Send Senu up to locate the landowner on the villa’s second floor. You’ll also find several Level 37 bandits scattered throughout the property.

Use the warrior bow on the bandit at the front gate; then climb the yard wall so that you enter the grounds behind the remaining bandit in the front yard. Assassinate him.

Enter the front door, sneak upstairs slowly, and assassinate the bandit with the landowner. If you have the chain assassinate ability, use it on the next bandit on the exterior balcony.

Take the Greek Landowner out of the Villa

Pick up the landowner and carry him downstairs and out the front door. Exit the yard and set him down to talk to him.

Speak to the Greek Landowner

When you ask if he knows where the bandit nest is located, he tells you that servants tracked riders coming south form the White Desert.

Find and Assassinate the Bandit Leader

White Desert

Mount horses and ride south over the mountains, heading for the White Desert Sobek Ruins (4). Expect to meet bandits on horseback on the mountain road (3). Use a heavy blunt or your favorite long weapon to take them out while remaining on your mount.

White Desert Sobek Ruins

Prerequisite: Approach the Ruins

Suggested Level: 38

Location Reward: 450 XP

Location Objectives: Loot three treasures

Send Senu up to locate the bandit leader when you near the White Desert Sobek Ruins. Mark the three treasures and the Level 38 to 39 bandits. A good approach is from the east (4).

Climb up the northeastern pillar (5) and cross the rope connected to the next pillar (6). From here you can wait for patrols to line up underneath you, where assassinations will be stealthy. Cross the rope heading south to drop-assassinate the bandit patrolling (7) below, or put arrows in the heads of the bandits on the ledge (8).

Eventually the leader (9) sits at his desk with the treasure. Drop down the north side of the ruin walls to assassinate him from behind. When you confirm the kill, you receive a letter: the Blessing of Ra. It’s a letter from Son of Ra, so this wasn’t the guy you’re looking for. Before you leave, collect the treasures.

Find and Assassinate the Bandit Lord, Son of Ra

Dionysias Caravanserai

Prerequisite: Approach the fortS

UGGESTED LEVEL: 38

Location Reward: 900 XP

Location Objectives: Kill one captain and one commander, loot two treasures

Travel northwest to Dionysias Caravanserai (10) back in Faiyum. Send Senu over the medium military stronghold to mark the Son of Ra (who is in a cage). Mark all the bandits and treasures too. Be aware, if you have not killed him already, Phylake, Ra’s Mercy, is in the area. Make setting the brazier trap priority.

Climb up the northwest tower (10) and pull the solider out of the window (if he’s there). Access the rooftop to set the brazier trap. Head northeast through the next tower and grab some arrows. Continue across the top of the commander’s office (11) and leap into the haystack on the wall walk.

If the commander is not in his office, wait until he sits down at his desk or take him out another way. If he is sitting at his desk, assassinate him from behind. However, this could cause attention if it comes to combat. Use the hiding booth in his office to hide from investigating bandits.

From this wall walk, use the fire from the commander’s doorway to light arrows. Shoot the oil vases around the prisons (12) to light up the entire area and defeat the caged Son of Ra without laying a finger on him. You also burn the lions in the cages next to him.

Continue through the fort, taking full advantage of the many hiding booths, high towers, suspended ropes, and ballista (13) to take out the remaining occupants. The captain (14) hangs out in the shipping area at the fort’s north end.

Confirm the Kill

After defeating the Son of Ra, confirm the kill to enter the kill room, where you help him pass into the next realm.

Speak to Zahra

Head to the small village street north of the fort to find Zahra (15). She is delighted you helped her stop the farm burnings.
