Assassin's Creed Origins Guide › Side Quests › Sapi-Res Nome Side Quests

Smoke over Water

Prerequisite: Complete Main Quest: The Scarab’s Sting

Suggested Level: 15

Reward: 1,500 XP

Find Amosis Near the Docks

Enter Harkhuf’s (1) secret room through the crack in the wall (accessible when you complete Main Quest: The Scarab’s Sting). Accept the quest from the back table. You must find Jeska’s friend Amosis, the fish merchant, and see if she’ll step up to help the cause.

Talk to Amosis (2), who works on the western shore. She informs you that Jeska is not dead and is currently at the hippo lair.

Find Jeska

Take a boat from the shoreline and fly Senu south to locate Jeska. You’ll find her battling hippos at the hippo lair (3).

Kill the Hippos around the Island

Assist her in killing the Level 15 beasts. Use the small dead tree to escape and heal if needed. After taking out a couple hippos, yellow markers appear above the remaining hippos to help you locate them.

Location Objective: Hippo Lair

Defeat the alpha hippo (it’s marked yellow) to complete the hippo lair objective and to earn 150 XP.

Speak to Jeska

Speak to Jeska after the battle. You tell her that Harkhuf thought she was dead and needs her back. She agrees but needs your help getting supplies to her village first.

Escort Jeska

Enter her felucca and let her do the sailing. She sails southeast and tells you how she barely escaped Sefetu. She stops at a pier (4) at the mouth of the connecting river.

Follow Jeska to Her Village

Exit the boat and walk into the tall grass outside her village (5). You soon come upon the horrific sight of the burned-out village. Jeska rushes to the village, which is full of Level 16 soldiers. Send Senu up to mark all the soldiers and the treasures. Approach Jeska to trigger the next objective.

Kill the Looters

Mefkat

You can approach this stealthily by walking along the south side of the burned-out village, using smoke and tall grass as cover (6).

Look for opportunities to put arrows in nearby soldiers between the burned-out buildings. Continue working your way to the east end of the village while eliminating only the soldiers you can kill while remaining in stealth.

We recommend stealthily taking out the brute with the large shield before blowing your cover. When only a few remain, run in and assist Jeska. If you become overrun, take to the rooftops to battle the soldiers.

Speak to Jeska

Talk to Jeska (8), who is standing next to the tree with a man hanging from it. Grab a treasure from this hanged man.

Location Objective: Mefkat

Collect the treasure from the cart in the middle of the village. To reach the treasure above the man hanging from a tree, climb the thinner tree next to it and then leap to the treasure tree.

Jeska goes on the hunt for survivors. She finds a conscious man named Pentu. He is badly burned. She needs you to carry him to a friend’s farm nearby.

Destroy Statue of King Ptolemy

Destroy the statue of King Ptolemy at the west entrance (9).

Carry Pentu to the Farm

Pick up Pentu (10) and place him on a soldier’s horse in the village. You can also exit the village and call your own mount. Ride north across the river and deliver him to the farm (11).

Jeska thanks you for your help and tells you she’ll help Harkhuf find a way to stop Sefetu. You agree to help her again.
