Total: 14 tombs, 6 Ancient Mechanisms
Objective: Find the Ancient Tablet and activate the Ancient Mechanism
Related Quests: Hideaway (Suggested Level: 3)
Reward: 1 AP per tomb, 250 XP per Ancient Mechanism
Tombs dating back millennia were constructed throughout the region to honor the dead. Treasures were left with the dead within the structures for their travels to the afterlife. These burial sites have since been targets of thieves and researchers alike.
All 14 tombs contain an Ancient Tablet deep inside, which is the main object for Bayek. Along the way, valuable Silica and treasures are also available to loot. Finding the tablet completes the location and earns an Ability Point, but for a few of the tombs, it doesn’t end there.
Farther inside these sites, a mysterious Ancient Mechanism offers a connection to the future, but it requires a set amount of Silica to activate. This triggers a message from and completes another location. The sixth and final Ancient Mechanism is located beneath the Sphinx.
Step-by-step walkthroughs for all 14 tombs and 6 Ancient Mechanisms will help you find the location of every Silica and treasure and will help you complete your main objectives—finding the Ancient Tablets and Mechanisms.
Walkthroughs for the five tombs that also house an Ancient Mechanism are split between, before, and after you find the Ancient Tablet.
The following tombs are presented in alphabetical order, but this is not the order that you find them. Typically, you complete Mountain of the Dead first as the side quest “Hideaway,” which leads you through the tomb just west of the starting village Siwa.
For each tomb, we list the number of Silica and high-value treasure found within, and we note whether there is an Ancient Mechanism. We also list the amount of Silica required to activate the device. Note that the final mechanism needs 50 Silica to complete, so be sure to collect every last one. We also tell you which segment each Ancient Mechanism activates, in case you wish to hear the messages in order.
