Assassin's Creed Origins eGuide Main Quests Memphis

The Lizard’s Face

Suggested Level: 23

REWARDS: NA

Unlocks: One of three quests that unlocks Main Quest: Way of the Gabiniani

Details: Bayek must help the High Priest finally rip the Order of Ancients out of Memphis.

Follow Aya

Memphis

If you have been following the guide and sweeping up side quests as suggested, you should be around Level 29. Start this quest when you are at least Level 23. Find Aya (1) waiting for you south of the Temple of Ptah.

Memphis’s curses are lifted, but the source still remains in the Great Temple: the Lizard. With Cleopatra arriving to rally the Egyptians to her name and rightful throne, Bayek and Aya must take out the Lizard, a rotten priest at the core of Memphis. With the Lizard out of the way, joy and festivities may occur without an oppressive cloud overhead.

Reach the Royal Palace before Aya Does

The race is on. Both you and Aya mount horses of equal speed and head north past the temple to the Palace of Apries (2) to hear Cleopatra’s speech. We suggest letting your wife win. If you’re married, you’ll know why.

Follow Aya to the Royal Palace

Head north on foot. Turn left at the intersection to discover Cleopatra’s speech (3). After the presentation, Aya reports to Cleopatra and tells her the Apis bull was poisoned. You continue to get the twins who poisoned it out of hot water and point the blame at the priest of Anubis with the blue scarf and a cough. Pasherenptah is shocked that it is a priest in his circle but gives you the location of where he will be and when.

Find Hetepi among Anubis’s Priests and Assassinate Him

Send Senu up and over the Great Temple (4). Locate the five priests walking around (some together, some not). After you mark them all, fly to get a closer look at each of the priests’ hood colors. You are looking for the blue one. Fly as low as you can and wait for priests inside to walk into a clearing so you can find Hetepi. When you spot him, use Senu to mark him so that it’s easier to find him when you return to Bayek.

You can march right into the Great Temple with no fear of being attacked by soldiers. Walk right up to Hetepi and assassinate him. Confirm the kill to enter the between world.

Speak to Pasherenptah to Report Hetepi’s Death

Return to the Palace of Apries (3) and report the news to Pasherenptah and Cleopatra. She again thanks you and promises to get to the matter of Khemu’s death. A festival is thrown, but afterward, Aya breaks the news to Bayek that she will be parting ways to continue her duty to Cleopatra.
