In order to get stronger and take on tougher quests and activities, you need to earn experience (XP). To do so, find new locations, defeat enemies, complete quests and activities, and complete certain locations.
You accrue XP, and at certain levels, you moves up to the next player level. Each level also earns you an Ability Point (AP) that you can put toward new abilities. (See the table below for the specific amounts of XP required to reach each level.)
Bayek maxes out at Level 40, but you still earn XP. At this point, every 10,000 XP gets you another AP. You can do this indefinitely.
